With the improvement of people's living standards and the increasing economic activities, the number of car ownership, the number of people's business trips and the rise of the logistics and express delivery industry all add to the burden on highway transport. The highway network adaptability evaluation system developed in this paper can intuitively understand whether the highway network can meet the public travel needs, when traffic congestion occurs, you can know where traffic congestion is,provide the basis for future decision making for road maintenance and highway reconstruction and expansion. This system evaluates the adaptability of highway network from two aspects of macro and micro.Six evaluation indexes are selected for the macro evaluation index of highway network, which are considered from two aspects of road structure performance and operation quality;Micro evaluation index is the ratio of service traffic to traffic capacity. The system has developed a total of 14 main interfaces, including 7 data management interfaces,3 data micro-analysis interfaces, and 4 data macro-analysis interfaces. This study verified the effectiveness of the system by using the network of Hebei Province. The area data set in GIS spatial data is the administrative division of 11 cities in Hebei Province;Line data set is 723 sections of Hebei provincial trunk line;Point data sets are 658 continuous observation stations.SQL Server database contains data uploaded by each observation station from 2013 to 2016,with a total of twenty million data. The system realizes the functions of storing, querying and analyzing spatial data and attribute data.It can make macroscopic and microscopic evaluation on the adaptability of highway network in the form of graph and table.
