Application Of Urban Organic Renewal Theory In The Design Of Old Building Renovation

With the development of China’s economy,people’s work and life style is upgrading.The rising of new industries and promoting of traditional industries will accelerate the renewal of cities.Under the influence of urban organic renewal theory,old buildings,as the object of urban renewal,have not fully adapted to the development of modern cities.There exists many problems,such as abandoned buildings,backward supporting facilities,scattered spatial layout and environmental deterioration.Without breaking the inner order and law of the city,a planned transformation is carried out.By using the methods of document index,site visit and case analysis,the paper explores the reconstruction design of old buildings.Aiming at the cases of old building renovation in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region after twentieth century,the paper analyzes the application method of urban organic renewal theory in old-building reconstruction.Firstly,through analyzing the old-building transformation cases,the paper summarizes the problems in the old-building reconstruction,such as simplification of function mode,lack of macro control from the overall perspective,destruction of cultural continuance,conflict with modern architectural design concepts and so on.On such basis,the theoretical connotation and research status of urban organic renewal are analyzed in depth.Secondly,under the trend of city renewal,this paper tries to put forward some transformation methods for old-building organic renewal.Moreover,under the principles of organic integration,diversification,inclusiveness of classical and modern taste as well as sustainable development,this paper discusses the organic renewal of old buildings from the aspects of space order,space form,space function,interface color,interface material,interface form,interface decoration,new and old buildings and so on.At length,combining the above research,the method of urban organic renewal theory in oldbuilding reconstruction is applied to real cases.Focusing on urban organic renewal theory,this paper carries out research on oldbuilding reconstruction and tries to put forward specific design strategies to make it more rational and sustainable,thus achieving highly harmonious combining integral space planning,functional diversification,city texture continuation,environment transformation with the overall environment of the city.
