As result of the rapid growth of Chinese economy,increasing numbers of people are shifting their focus from simply improving personal wealth to pursue spiritual enhancement.According to ‘the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education’ and ‘the strategy of reinvigorating China through human resource development’ within the twelfth and thirteenth five years plan enforced by the Chinese government,the government is hoping to seize the opportunity for both the country and the household through improving education standard.As the primary choice of education platform outside the school,the standard of youth activity center is very important to the Chinese education reformation.Youth activity center is a platform for juniors to study and play outside school.This platform has tremendous influence on juniors to develop interests and talent.As a result,in order to guide juniors to pursue knowledge,developing interest and thinking ability,the design of youth activity center need to consider not only classroom teaching requirements but also the unique impacts from environmental psychology issues of children.As a very complex subject,especially from the psychological perspective,the study of design youth activity center is also related to several of complex subjects.Research on the development background based on the above,according to the study on numbers of case studies and papers about youth activity center at home and abroad,the paper is structured to three parts: problem raising,analysis and solution.First of all,this paper studied the development background at current stage,using document induction,contrast induction,research analysis and onsite participation practice as tools to find out the key issues to build a great activity center which is suitable for children to play and build relationships.Second part of the paper focus on problems analysis.Using related psychological theories as background to study and analysis the architectural space of youth activity center,in order to find the relationship between juniors and environment at different ages.After that,this paper introduced the relevance between environmental psychology and the spatial scale,space function and space path of buildings,together with the design principle in above three areas.The final part of this paper is a personal design work,using the youth activity center in Qinghuai district,Nanjing as the modification target to come out with the architectural space design which suitable for children.Research on architectural space form of Youth Activity Center for psychology discipline,combine with the research results of the key principles of children friendly architectural space design,provide with architectural space design on actual cases.I am looking forward this paper could be useful as a reference in architectural space design.
