Well–salt settlement is one of the traditional settlements.It has risen due to the production of well-salt and has prospered due to the development of well-salt trade.Before the founding of new China,under the special political,economic and technological background,the salt industry,as a monopoly of the rulers,has a very important role.It can not only provide a rich tax,but also a medium for the rulers to strengthen their power.This is especially true for the Yunnan region which is far away from the Central Plains and is inhabited by many ethnic groups.Yunnan's well-salt settlement is under this background.The prosperity lasted for thousands of years.With the changes in society and advances in science and technology,people are no longer tired of salt,and the well-salt settlement inevitably loses their former glory and restores ordinary life,and the previous ancient law of salt production has caused damage to the environment around the settlement.Various reasons have led to the urgent need for reforms in the settlement of traditional well-salt in Yunnan in order to preserve the historical and cultural heritage inherited for thousands of years.The value discovery and development strategy research of traditional well-salt settlements has become an extremely urgent issue right now.The space system of well-salt settlement is a complex and dynamic organism.In order to reveal the cultural connotation and spatial characteristics of the traditional well-salt settlement,this thesis takes the traditional well-salt settlement in Dali area of Chuxiong as a study case to study the historical evolution of the well-salt settlement and the type of architecture.The main contents of the study include: 1.Exploring the development process of well-salt transportation in Yunnan during the Ming and Qing Dynasties to reveal the background and cultural background of the formation of traditional well-salt settlements.2.Taking the towns of Heijing,Shiyang of Chuxiong and Qiaohou,Mixin and Nodeng villages of Dali as examples,to discuss the historical development and spatial pattern of well-salt settlements.3.From the production process of the well-salt and its construction type,so as to have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the historical changes of the well-salt settlement.4,The conclusion summarizes the historical reasons of chuxiong Dali well-salt settlement form and change process of well-salt production process and the characteristics of the building type is the future development of well-salt settlements and protection question has carried on the preliminary discussion.The significance of this study lies in the analysis of the formation and historical evolution of well-salt settlements in Chuxiong Dali,revealing the cultural and spatial morphological characteristics of the well-salt settlements,which has a positive effect on recognizing and protecting the unique characteristics and cultural inheritance of traditional well-salt settlements.By collecting and establishing the objective historical background of the well-salt settlements of Chuxiong Dali and the basic data of the current spatial patterns,we will provide basic research results for the further exploration of the unique settlement types of well-salt settlements.
