Study On Architectural Characteristics Of Weaving And Dyeing Workshops Of The Ming And Qing Dynasties In Nanjing

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties,Nanjing is one of the country’s most important production areas of silk products,clothing the world.Weaving and dyeing industry is an important part of the cultural system of handicraft industry in Ming and Qing Dynasties in Nanjing.Including silk weaving to dyeing and dyeing processing,and production technology to production relationship,both official or folk production,and production scale or commodity trade,it has reached the highest peak in the era of Chinese monarchy.The weaving and dyeing workshop,which is closely related to it,bears the important function of "clothing,food and life",and continues the world class intangible cultural heritage,the development of the handicraft craft of Nanjing brocade wooden machine makeup flower.Become the epitome of the rise and fall of the Nanjing cloud brocade industry,and an important part of Nanjing people’s daily life and common city memory.This article takes the two periods of Ming and Qing Dynasty as time nodes,bye taking the weaving and dyeing workshop buildings in Nanjing area of the Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research object.On the basis of the achievements of the history of handicraft industry and the history of construction of Nanjing in Ming and Qing Dynasties,combining the relevant literature research and concrete field investigation,discussing the development and evolution of Nanjing Ming and Qing weaving and dyeing workshops from different angles of function layout and form characteristics.The article is divided into six chapters,the first chapter is the introduction part,which generally takes the prosperous Nanjing Ming and Qing weaving and dyeing industry as the background,and the study of the weaving and dyeing workshops of Nanjing in Ming and Qing Dynasties,in order to achieve the purpose of filling the research of the weaving and dyeing workshops,to summer up the related concepts and the summary of the existing research results,and to determine the research framework and methods for the research.The second chapter researching the development background of the handicraft workshop in Ming and Qing Dynasties in Nanjing,the scale distribution of weaving and dyeing workshop and its relationship with the city,as well as the relationship between weaving and dyeing workshop area and the city.In this way to make clear the proportion and status of the weaving and dyeing workshop building in city.The third chapter systematically carding and analysing the building configuration,functional organization of Nanjing Ming and Qing weaving and dyeing workshop.The fourth chapter researching the formal characteristics of Nanjing Ming and Qing weaving and dyeing workshop.Analysing the characteristic of the buildings’ plan,facade and section.The fifth chapter summarizes the technology and decoration characteristics.The sixth chapter is the results of the paper and my prospects.In a word,this paper discusses the relationship between the distribution of the weaving and dyeing workshop construction in Nanjing and its relationship with the urban spatial structure and function from the perspective of the city,and reveals the morphological features of this special type of architecture from the functional types of the workshop buildings and their relationship with the space.The research results aim to serve the protection of the cultural heritage of the city,provide the basis for how to protect more abundant historical information in the transformation of the old city,and how to repair and protect workshop buildings.
