The urban water system space is the bearing space for the hydrological process of a small watershed. In the process of rapid urbanization in China, the water system space under natural conditions has been largely transformed and gradually evolved into urban space. The original natural hydrological process has been subject to disturbances and changes, which has led to water resources, water security, water ecology,etc.problem.For the mountainous cities, the particularity of their topographical conditions and their ecological vulnerability make them different from the plain cities in their hydrological characteristics. They are more geographically specific and their hydrological processes are more complex. The construction of mountainous cities has also required large-scale reconstruction of topography and landform because of the limitation of its topographical conditions, resulting in greater damage to the natural hydrological environment. At present, the problem of water problems in mountainous cities is frequent, and the primary task for them to comprehensively solve is to specify the specific interference of the spatial construction characteristics of mountainous urban water systems with hydrological processes, and to further understand the impact of the spatial relationship of the mountainous city water system on hydrological processes,so as to respect the urban environment. The river basin hydrological process explores the viable path for the spatial planning of mountainous city water systems.Based on the research background and relevant literature research foundation, the paper deeply analyzed the main research ideas, analyzed the specific impact of the construction of mountainous cities on the hydrological processes of small watersheds in the cluster area and plot units, and then proposed correspondingly from the perspective of weakening the related impacts. The planning strategy for hydrological space is to promote the infiltration of runoff, integrate the converging paths and optimize the river structure, and apply it to practical projects for verification. The paper is divided into seven chapters:The first chapter describes the background, purpose and significance of the research, and defines and discriminates concepts such as small watersheds, hydrological processes, mountainous city and urban water system space, urban water system planning, and urban water system spatial planning. The research methods and research contents are clarified. The second chapter has combed the relevant research of urban water system spatial planning, the planning and construction research of mountain city water system space and related research contents and methods of small watershed hydrology, explored the research practice trend of the spatial planning of mountainous city water system and the limitations of the existing planning.Focusing on the relevant research content and methods of hydrology in small watersheds. The third chapter, based on the clues of the research ideas of spatial planning of mountainous city water system, expounds the selection of perspectives of hydrological process, selection of research scale of small watershed unit, and the goal of responding to core planning requirements, and further clarifies the research thinking and key points of this research.research content. The forth chapter, based on the particularity of mountainous cities and the division of hydrological processes in small watersheds, focuses on the analysis of hydrological process characteristics, relevant influencing factors, and the spatial space of mountainous urban systems carrying these processes, and explores the spatial construction of internal water systems in clusters of mountainous cities. The spatial and pattern characteristics of the specific impact of each process, analysis of the changes in the hydrological process after the construction of mountainous cities interfere with the planning objectives. The fifth chapter, proposes multi-angle strategies to promote the runoff and infiltration of the runoff space, integrate the converging path of the confluent space, and optimize the river structure of the river space, and discusses the countermeasures for each hydrological process-dependent space. The sixth chapter, takes the participating project “Water System Planning of Bazhong Economic and Technological Development Zone” as an example, and combines the actual situation with the application of spatial planning strategies for mountainous urban water systems to verify its feasibility and improve its theoretical research. The seventh chapter, summarizes and discusses the research results.
