Study On The Strategies Of Revitalization About Ruins Of Vernacular Architectures Based On Authenticity

Vernacular architectures are important carrieries of traditional Chinese culture.They are widely distributed in various nationalities and regions.As time goes by,many vernacular architectures become ruins.Some of them corrupted by natural disasters,wars and demolitions,the others waned by weathering.The traditional Chinese culture insists that the ruins only represent the sad past,which is an ominous symbol.They fail to serve the vernacular society.Nowadays,people gradually realized the significance of regionalisms to urban and rural development.Therefore,if we revitalize the ruins which have good values based on authenticity,not only can inherit the traditional culture,but also promote the quality of contemporary living environment.The paper put the view of western architecture ruins as a starting point,then research the value cognition of the ruins of vernacular architectures in contemporary age.The concept of western architectures ruins formed the diversified emotional ideas such as "Return to nature","Nostalgia","Positive" and "Respect for history" since Romanticism.At the same time,it also formed the heritage cognition called "take true as beauty".According to International Charter For The Conservation And Restoration Of Monuments And Sites,The Nara Document on Authenticity and so on,the paper refines the concept of "Authenticity" of architectural heritage and provide the clue to research the value of ruins of vernacular architectures in China.Then the paper study on the authenticity from "Historical commemorative value","Artistic value","Sample-value" and "Cultural symbol value".The paper puts forward the corresponding revitalized strategies,covering five aspects,such as "Basic idea","Value judgment","Activation direction","Form operation" and "Design criterion"."Basic idea" is the core of the revitalized strategies,which requires to put the authenticity as the basis,to realize the accurate revitalization."Value judgment" answers the question of "which ruin is suitable to revitalize".It not only research whether the value of ruins remain in good condition,but also research the reuse value,which can improve the overall quality of the objects."Revitalized direction" and "Form operation" answer the question of "how the ruins fit into the contemporary life"."Revitalized direction" stipulates the applied fields of the ruin,and "Form operation" research the form expression of the ruins.Both of them explore the specific ways of the ruins to fit contemporary life."Design criterion" answer the question of "how to retain authenticity during revitalized process".Make sure of protecting authenticity by the guidelines such as conservation substance,identifiability,minimal intervention,reversibility.Then,the paper discusses the feasibility of the strategy in the case of Wanxichong Village in kunming.In the urban rural planning under the background of "beautiful country",The paper studies the specific practice of the strategy by screening valuable ruins,putting forward the revitalized direction,making form operations and excuting the design criterion.
