Study On Upgrading TGSI In Pedestrian Area On The Road Of Nanjing Gulou District

The construction of barrier-free environment is an important symbol of the spiritual civilization and material civilization of a country and a city,and it is also one of the proper contents for the development of urban connotation.Although TGSI has been vigorously constructed in all cities and towns in China in recent years,there are many problems in the actual use of TGSI,and the massive construction of TGSI has not had a great beneficial impact on the group travel of the visually impaired.Although according to current situation of urban road pedestrian space TGSI separate problem put forward the countermeasures of related research is numerous,but the system of urban road pedestrian space TGSI setting and TGSI space quality evaluation and countermeasures related theory is scarce.This study is carried out in this context.The thesis has probed into the relevant theoretical foundation of TGSI pedestrian space and built an urban road pedestrian space evaluation system to evaluate the situation of TGSI space among various road conditions in Nanjing Gulou district,on the basis of the travel characteristics of people with visual impairment,the mechanism of TGSI’s guidance,as well as the basic principles of setting TGSI.First of all,it has reviewed the development of existing thesis in the aspects of the travel of the visually impaired people,the setup of TGSIs,the discovery of the existing problems in TGSI and the improvement of the spatial quality of the TGSI.This thesis has expounded the origin and evolution of TGSI,as well as the characteristics and needs of the group of visually impaired people,and has made corresponding analysis of the blind guide mechanism from the aspects of the basic structure and working principle of the TGSI.To clarify the principles to be followed;Based on the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy evaluation method,the evaluation system of urban road walking space is constructed.This thesis has summarized the problems of TGSI setting in urban road,analyzes the problems and puts forward corresponding countermeasures to improve the quality of TGSI space.The conclusions are as follows:1.TGSI is an effective way to guide blind people.It has positive effect on promoting the independent travel of visually impaired people.Different countries or regions make different types of TGSIs according to their own social needs.The visually impaired people mainly rely on traditional ways for travel,such as the company of their family members,the blind crutch and TGSIs.Some new hi-tech ways combined with new technology tools and the guiding dogs which a more expensive way are difficult to popularize in a short period of time,traditional ways will still be the mainstream of the visually impaired people’s way to travel in the future.2.The setup of TGSI should follow the following five principles: security,normalization,accessibility,systematic and coordination.The evaluation system of TGSI in city road pedestrian space includes 6 secondly important index such as the standardization of the b TGSI setting,the safety of the TGSI space,the accessibility of the TGSI system,the continuity of the TGSI system,the environmental comfort and aesthetics of the TGSI space and 24 thirdly important index.3.Based on the current situation evaluation of TGSI in Gulou district of Nanjing,the common problems are summarized as follows: planning,construction,management,and unreasonable design,etc.In the old town,the municipal facilities are backward and the update is not timely,which contributed to more serious abrasion and damage of the roads.On the contrary,the roads in the new town area are wider than in the old town,and the TGSI space quality is better,but the utilization rate is lower.The peculiar problems include that the quality of TGSI space in old towns’ road pedestrian space is worse than that in new area,the quality of TGSI space in lower grade roads is worse than in higher grade roads,and the quality of TGSI space in unstable city roads’ environment is worse than that in stable environment.4.The background of the development of history in different urban area and complex urban road environment of different areas are the main reasons for the peculiar problems of TGSI space environment.Motor transport development rapidly in new city districts,however,the old city districts have lots of difficulties in urban renewal,which prevents them from catching up with the new city districts in a short period of time.As a result,more problems begin.5.It is necessary to improve the quality of road walking space in Gulou district by improving TGSI construction,optimizing TGSI position,perfecting TGSI system and setting up TGSI in accordance with local conditions.
