Cost control has always been a key research object in the field of engineering. In the initial phase of the project, the feasibility study phase,it is necessary to decide whether to start the project according to the cost of the project.Including the later stage of design, construction, operation and maintenance and other related stages have their corresponding cost control objectives.First of all, based on the conclusion of the research results of domestic and foreign BIM technology, this thesis discusses the main cost control methods in the current design stage, and introduces the corresponding deficiencies of different control methods. In order to solve the waste of resources caused by these deficiencies, this thesis introduces BIM technology and makes related presentations to analyze the related advantages and economic effects of BIM technology. Then,it summarizes and analyzes a series of specific control measures in the cost control of BIM technology in the process of design and construction, mainly including rapid modeling, collaborative design,three-dimensional visualization, parametric design, collision inspection, direct extraction of component engineering quantity, and two-dimensional drawing inspection and output. The function of collaborative design and visualization can enable all parties to design their own parts on the same model, effectively help each design department communicate and coordinate and improve the design quality of the project. At the same time, for the amount of work of each component, the use of BIM technology can be quickly extracted in the model to do simulation construction. This can make reasonable arrangements for the talents and construction progress of the later construction, avoiding waste and reducing the cost of the project. The collision check can effectively check out the errors in the drawings so that the designer can correct them in the model. And,after the model is completed, the virtual roaming function can be used to verify the design effect. Finally, compared to the traditional CAD drawing stage,it is not necessary to change each drawing one by one as in the traditional drawing. When the BIM technology maps out, only one of the drawings needs to be modified, and other drawings are automatically modified accordingly.During the construction phase, the secondary development is operated.A management system platform is established to assist the project management during the construction process.A 4D model is built to simulate the construction to schedule the construction schedule to avoid the waste of the human machine and reduce the project cost. Finally, this thesis introduces the application of BIM technology in engineering examples with specific cases. The application of the case shows that BIM is suitable for bridge engineering projects and can provide effective support for bridge engineering design, thereby reducing drawing errors and improving efficiency.Greatly reduced waste.Provides a clear reference for the later construction, not only effectively reduce the waste of resources, but also save construction time by rationally arranging construction procedures according to the virtual construction guidance. After the application of BIM technology, the later work can be simulated in advance to identify problems and solve problems. In the construction phase, the BIM technology was used to carry out secondary development of the management platform and a 4D construction progress model was established to provide a reasonable reference for construction progress management. The research results in this thesis can provide effective reference for the application of BIM technology in large or complex bridge projects to improve the quality and efficiency of design and construction.
