Researches On Landscaping Depending On Suitability Theories Of The West Lake Scenic Area In Hangzhou

Landscape depending on suitability refers to fully tapping the natural resources and human resources of the site,skillfully using the landscaping elements of the site,such as landform,landscape vegetation,history and humanities,to create landscape according to local conditions,so as to achieve the goal of multiplying the effort with half the effort and obtaining the scenery skillfully.The term was first proposed by Academician Meng Zhaozhen,which is a profound extension of the meaning of "borrowing scenery".The essence of the theory is derived from the classical theory of landscape architecture:"skillful in borrowing,skillful in body".That is to say,the ingenuity of landscaping lies in the understanding of the causal relationship between the"appropriate" of the site and the "landscape" created,so as to find out the results of the cause and effect,embody the excavation and utilization of the appropriate of the site,highlight the appropriateness of the land natural resources and human resources so as to create the appropriate style.Landscape depending on suitability is one of the basic principles of landscape architecture design.It is necessary to sort out and summarize the theory of landscape depending on suitability to guide the practice of landscape architecture design.Hangzhou West Lake is the representative of the Jangnan gardens.With its superior natural resources and long history,the gardeners of the past dynasties made full use of natural mountains,lakes,streams,peaks,stones,flowers and trees,and integrated into the history and humanities.When dealing with different scenic spots,designers adopted appropriate and ingenious methods,adapted to local conditions,adapted to the times,so that all sceneries could be adapted to local conditions.It has formed the beautiful scenery of the West Lake,which is now full of scenery and looks forward to life.It can be said that it is a good example to borrow scenery.Therefore,this paper takes Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Spot as an example,carries out on-the-spot investigation on the West Lake Scenic Spot,analyses the methods of borrowing suitable landscaping,summarizes its excellent experience of landscaping,and sums up the universal depending on suitable landscaping rationality according to the main design sequence,including purposeful name-asking,layout,rationality and so on,for guiding the design practice.
