Since the volume of heavy truck is extremely huge,double-front-axle is applied so that the load can be shared by these two axles.At the stage of design,the reliability allocation results of its subsystems provide significant requirement and criterion for its design,which would affect the machining accuracy and costs of the double-front-axle system.Applying appropriate allocation method can avoid too high and unnecessary reliability requirement,which can then reduce the design and machining costs.Therefore,based on FMEA results of the double-front-axle,the present study investigated the reliability allocation of double-front-axle.By introducing a new transform function,the reliability allocation has been modified.The robust design of the front axle and the development of software for reliability analyzing have also been finished.At first the present study reviews the fundamental thesis and methods of reliability allocation.Then analysis of allocation methods of general series systems and the application of FMEA is introduced.FMEA is employed in analyzing its structure and function then FMEA tables is designed.After that,considering the limitation of FMEA in reliability allocation,a new cubic transform function is designed.Moreover,the new cubic transform function can be designed according to the practical conditions,in order to adjust to distinguish degree of subsystems’ reliability.By the allocation method which concerns multiple factors,the reliability of subsystems is obtained.Then based on the reliability of the front axle,the robust design is conducted.The reliability sensitivity of the front axle has been reduced so that the robust design is achieved.At last the development of the software for analysising the reliability of this double-front-axle system has been finished using MATLAB and VC++.It can manage the work of FMEA of this system,allocate the reliability and achieve the robust design of the front axle.The software can increase the efficiency and accuracy meanwhile release the tasks of people.
