Non-motorized vehicles include electric-bikes(e-bike)and traditional bikes,account for a large proportion of the daily travel of residents.Intersections are the nodes of the road traffic network.Its capacity directly affects the capacity of the whole road network system.In this paper,the non motorized traffic at signal intersection is taken as the research object,and the non motorized vehicle behavior at signal intersection is simulated by a cellular automaton model for the signalized intersection capacity research of non motorized vehicle.At first,the non-motorized vehicle characteristics,the non-motorized vehicle parking characteristics and driving characteristics at signal intersection are summarized and analyzed by collecting relevant research and doing field investigation.Then,based on the theory,non-motorized vehicle characteristics,the analysis result of non motorized lane capacity and its key influencing factors,the key influencing factors of signalized intersection capacity of non-motorized vehicle are researched.MATLAB is used to fit the nonlinear function with real data to analyze the key influencing factors of non-motorized lane capacity.A discovery is found in the analysis that the bicycle lane width correction value is about 0.8 meters for capacity calculation.When the ratio of e-bike of mixed non motorized traffic is from 0.35 to 0.85,the equivalent conversion value of an e-bike to traditional bicycle(BEU value)decreases,but the non motorized vehicle flow rate increases.Thereafter,a non motorized vehicle following model of signalized intersection is established.According to the characteristics of non motorized vehicle at signalized intersection and following model of non motorized vehicle,the modeling of non motorized vehicle behavior at signalized intersection is presented.The running path of non motorized vehicles through signal intersection is divided into two section,include the road section in front of the parking line and the cross section in the back of the parking line.And the non motorized vehicle following models based on the safety distance and the safe speed are established for the two path section respectively.Based on the following model,a cellular automaton model is used to simulate the non motorized vehicle behavior at signal intersections,and the non motorized traffic capacity at signal intersection is analyzed according to the simulation results.The relationship between the saturation flow rate of non motorized traffic at parking line and the e-bike ratio of mixed non motorized traffic,and the relationship between non motorized vehicle saturation flow rate at the parking line and the flow speed,as well as the loss time of non motorized traffic starting are analyzed with the simulation data.Combined with the research conclusion of this paper,the non motorized traffic capacity of a county signal intersection is calculated by using saturation flow rate method.Based on the research conclusion and field investigation,some suggestions are put forward for the management of non motorized vehicle at signalized intersection.
