The measurement of cable eccentricity is very important in the production process of cable,which is directly related to the quality of cable product.The history and present situation of cable eccentricity measurement are introduced,and the basic principles of the four kinds of measurement methods are discussed.The principle and method of nondestructive testing of X-ray are summarized,and the cable eccentricity measurement system of X-ray based on FPGA is proposed.The eccentricity measurement system is generally divided into two parts: host computer PC and slave computer FPGA.The slave computer uses FPGA as the core,based on SOPC(programmable system on chip)technology,a data acquisition and transmission system based on Nios II soft core processor is designed by using Qsys.The linear CCD sensor,A/D converter and USB interface chip are selected according to the system need.The hardware circuit of the system is designed,including FPGA peripheral circuit,CCD driver circuit,A/D conversion circuit,USB interface circuit.The system is divided into CCD data acquisition module,FPGA data processing module,USB data transmission module.The SOPC system used Qsys is designed in Quartus II.The driver timing pulses of each module are designed with Verilog HDL language.The software of the SOPC system is designed Based on SOPC(programmable system on chip)technology,a new data acquisition and transmission system based on Nios II soft core processor is designed by using with C language.The host computer uses PC as the core,and the software is designed with C# language.The host computer completes the management control of the slave computer,processes the uploaded data and realizes the visualization of the test result,and then analyzes whether the cable is eccentric.
