With the development of national economy and construction machinery industry,crawler cranes continue to improve the lifting weight,increase hoisting height and increase the scope of operation,its application is more and more widely,but the risk also will gradually increase,the accident is more frequent.In order to avoid and reduce the crawler crane accidents in the process of use,improve the reliability of safety and protect people's lives and property,Safety assessment of crawler cranes is required to put forward reasonable use,maintenance,transformation,or scrapped expectations,so as to manage the use of crawler cranes scientifically.This paper first discusses the status of safety assessment of cranes,introduces the current situation of safety indicators of crawler cranes,analyzes the structure and equipment related to the safety assessment of crawler cranes,also include the regulations and standards It also points out how to apply analytic hierarchy process to determine the weights of safety indicators and the application of synthetic and fuzzy valuation theory in safety assessment process.Secondly,through the statistical analysis of the typical accidents of 18 crawler cranes,the failure rules are discussed,and the indexes of steel structure,working mechanism,electrical and control system and safety protection device are summarized,and then these four index is subdivided step by step.Using the analytic hierarchy process and matlab software to analyze the data provided by the special equipment inspection experts,then,quantify the safety indicators,identify the major hazard sources,formulate the comprehensive safety rating standards,and finally establish the safety evaluation index system of the crawler cranes.The decomposition level rating method and the synthetic and fuzzy valuation theory is according to the safety assessment method of mechanical and electrical special equipment,finally,the safety evaluation system of the crawler crane is developed.Finally,a model for the QUY50 crawler crane is used as the actual assessment case.The qualitative evaluation of the case is carried out by using the decomposition level rating method.The evaluation grade is B grade,which can be used as 80%?90%of the original performance.The synthetic and fuzzy valuation theory is used to quantitatively analyze the case,and the whole machine safety evaluation result is on the low side,the probability is 0.447.Combined with qualitative and quantitative analysis,we can know that the case of the machine safety performance is good,but to use safely and ensure the performance of the machine not to reduce too fast,this crawler crane still needs maintenance and reduce use performance appropriately.
