Since the 21 st century,China’s urbanization process has developed rapidly,the number of its population has increased dramatically,and the number of motor vehicles in large and medium-sized cities has also grown linearly.This has led to an increase in the complexity of the operating systems of traffic roads in large and medium-sized cities.The situation of continuous congestion at peak hours is present,and alleviation of traffic congestion cannot be delayed.The most effective and cost-effective way to alleviate traffic jams at traffic intersections is to allocate signal timings in a timely manner to reduce traffic delays.The road information plays a major decisive role in the signal timing of traffic intersections.The road junction signal timing plan for road segment information seeks to ease the breakthrough point of traffic.Intersections account for the central part of urban traffic control,while intersections play a decisive role in the operation of a city’s transportation network and road network.How to improve the effectiveness of road junctions in the operation of road networks and transportation networks,among which there are many methods,and reasonable optimization of intersection signal timing can achieve the effect of improving the operation rate of urban road network in a simple and rapid manner.The theoretical research on signal timing and signal timing optimization of urban road intersections has great practical significance for alleviating urban traffic pressure.This thesis takes the intersection signal timing scheme based on road information as the research object,chooses vehicle delays,parking times,queuing captains as evaluation indicators,and uses gravity model to forecast traffic based on road information,and utilizes threshold services.The polling model realizes the timing of the signal lights at intersections.Finally,the actual road simulation model and the signal timing model are microscopically designed with VISSIM.Through the analysis of the evaluation indicators,the proposed control strategy is evaluated.For the purpose of the study,this paper mainly studies the following aspects:1.Explained some basic methods of signal lamp timing control,parameter model,evaluation of indicators of this system,etc.It also focuses on the service threshold polling model and proposes a vehicle driving signal timing model.2.Using the gravity model to make reasonable predictions of traffic flow through the road segment information and the existing traffic flow,and use the threshold service polling model for forecasting traffic flow to make timing and analyze its feasibility;3.Taking the intersection of Changyuan South Road and Kunzhou Road in Kunming City as a sample,the model was simulated and analyzed with VISSIM software to observe its performance.Through the study,we can see that in the final experimental results,the traffic prediction and signal timing based on the road information based on the gravity model have a certain ability to alleviate traffic congestion,the length of vehicle queuing is reduced,and the average parking time and parking delay are reduced to a certain extent.
