The urban development of our country is in the continuous renewal stage, the scale of the city is increasing, the land-use type is changing constantly. The traditional community located in the old city is also being reformed because of the renewal of the old town, which is mainly manifested in the gradual opening of the closed community and the gradual sharing of the community resources. However, the transformation space of traditional communities is limited, which can't meet the needs of accelerating the development of motorization.Consequently, many problems with traffic and living environment have arisen in the traditional open community. The article takes the traditional open community as the research object. On the basis of this research object, the key research contents include community development, community spatial characteristics and related influencing factors.According to the research results, the targeted optimization strategy of the community's traffic system is put forward and put into practice. This article defines the traditional open community as the residential area formed by the opening of the unit compound and the early residential community in the urban old town. The earliest traditional open communities appeared after the reform and opening up,and their residntial density and road density increased with the constant changes in living standards. In the process of continuous development, the problems in the community can be summarized into four aspects:road conditions, traffic conditions, parking conflicts and space utilization. These issues are related to the spatial characteristics and the traffic system of the community. In terms of spatial characteristics, this article divides the traditional open community space into seven types, each of which has its own functional characteristics and distribution characteristics.Under the impact of motorization, the community space has experienced adverse changes, the most important of which is the impact of parking. Therefore, this paper focuses on the parking patterns and supply and demand contradictions in the community, and establishes the parking supply scale calculation model under the limit, complete and moderate supply conditions.Through case calculations,it is found that under the current community space conditions, only a 15%parking rate of the community can be met under moderate conditions, and even under extreme conditions, the parking standard of one car per household cannot be achievedBased on the study of spatial characteristics, the paper establishes a spatial evaluation system aiming at creating a livable environment for traditional open communities.Different types of space serve as the criterion layer.A total of 34 impact factors based on objective evaluation are selected, and specific quantitative methods are given.Through the questionnaire survey and the analytic hierarchy process, the weight of each factor is determined, and the traffic space has the greatest impact on the community environment, and the highest impact factor in the traffic space is the fire channel protection. Finally,a special evaluation was made with the case of Jinan Leshan Community. In the aspect of traffic system optimization, this article aims at optimizing the goal of slow-moving traffic and creating a livable community environment.Combined with the research on the spatial analysis and evaluation system of the community, this article proposes an overall open and partially closed zoning plan for the traditional open community.Specific optimization methods and strategies are proposed in road network planning, road traffic organization and parking space planning. Finally, taking the Jinan Leshan Community as an example, the optimization strategy in this article was given to practice and a certain transformation effect was obtained.
