Based On The Kansei Engineering Of Lexus Body Modeling Research

With the rapid development of industrial technology in automobile industry,the automobile shape had been become a significant factor to enhance consumers purchasing inclination and the occupying market share.With the unilateral advantage of Engineering Technology,it was difficult to maintain the market competitiveness of brands and products.Meanwhile,with the advent of the perceptual era,it was also unremittingly improving the consumers' perceptual cognition of automobiles.The automobile body shape played an extremely significant psychological role as the first sensory impression of consumers.Body modeling design had been begun to tend to a new design mode,psychological intention,user experience and emotional needs and so on,which were oriented by consumer preferences and taken as new research objects.The design method had became more integrated and humanized.“Kansei Engineering” is a product research method,which combines perception with engineering to design products by analyzing the perceptual thinking of consumers.Consequently,it quantifies the perception,intention,concept and preference of things in consumers minds and translates them into specific design parameters.Ultimately,it also makes the designed products more closer to the perceptual needs of consumers.This thesis put forward the fundamental questions: "How to use the method of Kansei Engineering to acquire the consumers' inner emotional intention for automobile body modeling and apply it to the practice of modeling design.",which was based on the analysis of design examples.First of all,it analyzed the relationship between body modeling design features and perceptual images.Furthermore,it can be ascertained that consumers' perceptual images can be determined by the correlation between strength and weakness of the shape elements of the shape features and the perceptual semantics words.Then it also analyzed and researched the theoretical methods of Kansei Engineering,such as the measurement method,the establishment of sample bank and the extraction of Kansei vocabulary.Lexus body modeling design was constructed by the specific implementation process of Kansei Engineering method through specific design examples.In the meantime,the associative conclusion of the relationship between body modeling characteristics and perceptual images was obtained through the collection of sensibility and rationality.In addition,it also put forward the concept of geometric shape modeling with directional function and applied to specific design examples to achieve the most effective method.Moreover,the most effective method determined the direction of the body shape design in this design example,so as to effectively guide the body shape characteristics.
