With the rapid development of Chinese society and economy,the rapid increases of the size of the city and the number of people have resulted in the traffic enlarging dramatically.In order to alleviate the traffic pressure of the road network in the main urban area and rationally distribute the traffic flow,major cities in China have built new urban expressway systems,which usually surround and connect the main urban area with elevated bridges and tunnels.Two-way four-lane expressway with the three-dimensional crossover and control channels are used to enable vehicles to travel faster and more smoothly.At present,the expressway system has become an important hub to ensure the safe operation of urban traffic.Owing to long-term and high-load operation,roads,bridges and tunnels in expressway systems suffer from the diseases and accidents,which affect the normal operation of urban expressways.Especially for the peak traffic durations,the accidents occurring on expressways will have a serious impact on the urban traffic order.Therefore.it is necessary to conduct inspections on the safety status of urban expressways,and timely discover and deal with traffic accidents and diseases to ensure traffic safety.Traditional fast-track inspection and maintenance methods include daily inspections,regular inspections,special inspections,etc.Usually,inspectors drive special vehicles to perform the inspection of the fast roads,as well as record the disease and accident information on with manual recording.Then,the inspection data are returned to the inspection and maintenance department for follow-up disposal.With the acceleration of urbanization and the increasing scale of urban expressways,this traditional manual-based road inspection management methods can no longer meet the requirements of modern urban management.Accordingly,scientific and standardized management methods are urgently needed to effectively monitor the safety status of urban expressways to ensure the normal operation of urban traffics.Considered the urgent need of urban expressway safety operation management,and combined with the management business process and characteristics of Kunming Expressway inspection and maintenance,a information system named as "Mobile Terminal-based Urban Expressway Inspection and Maintenance Information System" is designed and developed to realize the scientific,informational,visual management and analysis of the Second Ring Road and the Northwest Third Ring Road in Kunming city.The main research content includes:(1)Analyze the current status and demand of urban expressway inspection and maintenance and information management.(2)Review the WebGIS technology,Hybrid mobile development technology and ThinkPHP framework.(3)Participate in the collection of the spatial location and attribute data of the geographical elements(including roads,bridges,tunnels)related to the expressway of the Second Ring Road and the Northwest Third Ring Road in Kunming city,and design and construct the Kunming Expressway Spatial Database.(4)Using WebGIS technology,Hybrid mobile development technology,ThinkPHP framework,Apache server and Mysql database,design and develop a mobile terminal-based urban express road inspection and maintenance information system.The system has functions such as daily inspection management,accident disease management,repair and maintenance,statistical analysis,map service and mobile terminal App information collection.The system has been got into practical application by Kunming Bridge and Tunnel Management Co.,Ltd.,it satisfies the requirements of urban expressway inspection and maintenance information management,and thus improves the management efficiency of the municipal road management department.
