Every time people mention lanes and alleys,they can't help thinking of the name of Shanghai.To some extent,lanes and alleys have become the symbol of Shanghai.Its unique architectural form combining Chinese and western elements,high-density and rich spatial composition,and complex and friendly neighborhood environment all reflect the unique charm of Shanghai style.The core geographic location of lanes and alleys,the aging construction facilities and the huge number of residential factors make the renewal and transformation of lanes and alleys always seem to be contradictory and difficult.Large-scale and high-intensity urban construction has caused a large number of lanes and alleys to be demolished in a short time,giving way to high-return commercial buildings or municipal construction.As a result,the lanes and alleys are facing the danger of disappearing,and the landscape of Shanghai,which is represented by the lanes and alleys buildings,has been seriously damaged.The special environmental significance,humanistic significance and practical significance of Shanghai lanes and alleys make it an urgent task to study their protection and renewal.Therefore,on the one hand,the protection of these lanes and alleys should be realized in the continuous development of Shanghai,and the strategies suitable for the development and renewal of these lanes and alleys should be sought.On the other hand,in the process of renewal,historical and humanistic elements should be inherited and developed to meet the needs of modern development.This paper takes Shanghai lanes and alleys as the main research object,and systematically summarizes the development,evolution and formation factors of Shanghai lanes and alleys through comprehensive data collation,and summarizes the characteristics of Shanghai lanes and alleys in overall layout,architectural pattern,architectural form and construction materials.In addition,the field investigation of Shanghai lanes and alleys is carried out,focusing on the analysis of the current situation of Shanghai lanes and alleys from the aspects of architecture,population and environment,and the existing problems of aging buildings,functional decline,low utilization rate of public resources and high population density are summarized.It is concluded that "protection" and "renewal" are practical ways to solve the current situation of lanes and alleys.Based on the principles of authenticity,overall protection,sustainable development and historical continuity,the development strategies suitable for Shanghai lanes and alleys are found out.Based on the above research and summary,under the guidance of correct theoretical methods,Shanghai Cite Bourgogne is selected as a practical case.Through the study of the current situation of Cite Bourgogne and the analysis of its surroundings,the project positioning of "culture","sharing" and "internationality" is put forward.Besides,a small-scale and gradual approach is adopted,Cite Bourgogne square and two adjacent buildings are selected as the objects of renovation,and the project layout is reasonably planned.In terms of the protection and renewal of architectural space,protection,renewal and transformation are mainly adopted from four aspects,namely,the integrity of pattern,the visual nature of form,the agreeableness of scale and the diversity of elements,to seek the symbiotic relationship between old and new buildings,respect the humanistic value of old buildings,and never adopt the construction method of "major demolition and construction,comprehensive renovation".The landscape of Cite Bourgogne is not only composed of buildings,but also public space is the core of the exhibition of the humanistic characteristics of lanes and alleys.By combining the vitality regeneration design of square space and the micro-intervention renewal of courtyard space,the original humanistic landscape of lanes and alleys can be continued,and the public service function and friendly relationship of environment of lanes and alleys can be improved chronically.As far as this microcirculation reengineering design mode is concerned,it keeps the original vigor and spiritual outlook of public space as far as possible,keeping the custom culture of Shanghai lanes and alleys,emphasizing the sense of participation,and arousing the resonance of local residents and the deep thoughts of visitors.In the protection and renewal of interior space,the original function and internal structure that cannot adapt to the modern development are changed.The meaning of interior space is re-interpreted and a new functional orientation is made.The use value of interior space is remolded in a new form that mainly uses reading and exhibition space.The research value of interior space such as pavilions and Bajin's former residence should be preserved to continue the typical Shanghai style of cultural decoration,so that the interior space has humanistic connotation and regional cultural characteristics.In this design,the theme is to continue and utilize the historical,cultural and stylistic features of lanes and alleys on the basis of maintaining the original urban texture of lanes and alleys.From this perspective,this paper considers the combination of tradition and modernity by means of update,which provides references on protection and update of lanes and alleys in the process of modern urban development.
