Transport connection between Europe and China was well known even before the common era.At that time the route was long at around 12 000 kilometer and was called "Silk Road".The starting point was from Xi'an,previously capital city of China, leading to Mediterranean Sea.The above mentioned goods transportation route was used frequently. It was used until the replacement by a new sea route. In the year 2013 the Chinese Government decided to revive the "Silk Road" concept, and called it the "One Belt One Road" initiative. It will connect China and Europe through railway transportation along with other different means of transportation, namely road or air transportation. The made research came up with idea of reorganization of two intermodal transportation hubs in the territory of Poland. The current existing hubs are located in east and south Poland. The east one is already operating and accepting transported goods from China. The second one,in the southern part of the country is still party under construction and will be shortly fully operating.Transporting goods from China to Poland takes nowadays approximately 14 days. The main aspect of this thesis is to show how to re-organize the whole transportation process between two continents, which are Asia and Europe, specifically between China and Europe by using Poland as a gateway to reach other European countries. It will take into consideration the summary process duration and the final cost of the whole transport of goods from China to Poland.Data used in this thesis are showing the time, cost of the transportation process being completed nowadays between China and both intermodal transportation hubs located in Poland. That calculation will make possible to compare those costs and time. This thesis presents how to developed and re-organize the way of services in both of polish hubs, not only in Malaszewicze, but also in Slawkow.By making those steps it will be possible to increase the number of freight train from China;increase the number of freight trains using the Trans-European Transport Network passing through Poland;increase the number of goods being transported by air and road transportation from Poland as a part of the whole intermodal transportation process;decrease in time and cost of the transportation process between China and Europe and finally to increase the level of trade between Poland and China. The complete research will help to prove the usefulness of re-organizing of operation of both intermodal transportation hubs, located in Poland.By the end of the project it will be known which steps must be taken to achieve all the goals to successfully complete the process of re-organization.The final result will give an overview on the feasibility of implementing this project in terms of finance, legality and socially acceptable. At the same time,it should not have any major adverse impact on the environment. The outcome that this thesis shows is the development of the places in Poland in which the existing intermodal transportation hubs are, decrease in time and cost of the transportation process between China and Europe, increase in convenient of transportation process to Europe.
