Construction And Empirical Study Of Low-carbon Tourism Scenic Spot Evaluation Index System

Economic development and climate change have become the focus of international attention in recent years,and the “low-carbon economy” is emerging and permeating into all fields of society.With the continuous rising of industrial status,tourism is facing large pressure on emission reduction.As a new form of tourism in the context of low-carbon economic development,low-carbon tourism has become an excellent choice for tourism by which scenic spots can achieve energy conservation and emission reduction.As important carriers of tourism activities,scenic spots can promote the development of low carbon tourism effectively by constructing low carbon scenic spot appraisal target system and building low carbon tourism scenic spot.On the base of on the relevant literatures reviews and relevant national policy documents,this study constructed a set of appraisal target system of low-carbon scenic spot by using the methods of literature analysis,Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process.The author also analyzed the feasibility of the target system in combination with tourists' preference.The author determined the evaluation criteria and constructed a comprehensive evaluation model according to the existing domestic standards and academic research results.This is an empirical study which took Qingxiu Tourist Resort and Daming Mountain Scenic Area in Guangxi for example and obtained the current status of low-carbon construction in these two scenic spots,conducted low-carbon level evaluation of scenic spots,and proposed development suggestions based on the evaluation results by applying questionnaire survey method,field investigation method.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The low-carbon tourist scenic spot appraisal target system contains 3 criterion layers(low-carbon tourism attractions,low-carbon operations,low-carbon publicity and benefits),10 indicator layers(low-carbon tourism products,low-carbon public facilities,low-carbon systems,Low-carbon catering,low-carbon accommodation,low-carbon transportation,low-carbon system,low-carbon propaganda,low-carbon benefits)and 27 element layers.(2)The result showed that the weight value order of indexes calculated by using the Delphi method and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)are as follows: low carbon tourism attraction(0.5862)> low carbon operation(0.2896)> low carbon management and benefit(0.1242).(3)The data of tourists' preference survey investigation show that 92.88% of tourists arewilling to support and participate in the low-carbon tourism,and they are willing to support and participate in the development of low-carbon tourism.The evaluation of the index of tourists' behavior in the appraisal target system is practical and feasible.(4)The empirical research based on Qingxiu Tourist Resort and Daming Mountain Scenic Area in Nanning shows that the Qingxiu Tourist Resort scores 84.43 points,which is ranked as 4-star low-carbon tourist scenic spot.Among the criterion layers,the low-carbon operation has the highest scoring rate of 89.92%.The low-carbon tourism attraction score rate is slightly lower,which is 81.31%.Daming Mountain Scenic Area scored 75.66 points,which is ranked as 3-star low-carbon scenic spot.Among the criterion layers the low-carbon tourism attraction score was the highest at 90.67%,and the low-carbon operation score was slightly lower,which is 45.10%.(5)Based on the evaluation results of the two scenic spots,this paper proposes several suggestions on the low-carbon development of natural eco-tourism scenic spots:(1)Preserve nature resources effectively and improve the carbon sink capacity of scenic spots.(2)Guide low-carbon behavior and increase carbon compensation in scenic spots.(3)Develop new energy sources and actively introduce low-carbon technologies.(4)Pay more attention to pollution control and optimize the scenic environment.(5)Improve low-carbon development planning and develop low-carbon products and services.
