At present,domestic independent brand MPV has price advantage in passenger car market.However,with the improvement of people's income level,the pursuit of consumer goods quality is gradually enhanced,and the price advantage of domestic independent brand MPV is gradually weakened.With the passage of time,residents born after 1980 have become the main consumers of MPV.Consumers pay more attention to car quality,brand and ride experience,and tend to be more refined and comfortable models.Faced with the change of consumer demand,how to update the design of MPV,change the rough,inexpensive and rigid impression of domestic consumers,and continue to maintain and expand market share has become a top priority.This paper mainly includes four aspects:MPV automobile sales situation,MPV consumer demand,aesthetic characteristics of automobile styling design and design types of domestic MPV automobile.It comprehensively studies domestic MPV automobile consumer demand by using literature research,questionnaire survey,interview and statistical analysis,and completes MPV automobile design that meets domestic consumer demand by introducing formal beauty principle.The scheme hopes to provide a new perspective for the design of our own brand MPV automobile through the MPV design scheme in the paper.The study finds that,influenced by domestic economic development and comprehensive two-child policy,the sales volume of MPV will still maintain a relatively fast growth level,and whether it can meet diversified needs will be the main factor for consumers to consider;MPV consumers are mainly male,mainly aged between 30 and 35 years old,and have the characteristics of high income and high education.Consumers buy the main motor vehicles of MPV models.Because it meets the diversified needs of family life,the car purchase budget mainly concentrates in the range of 100,000-200,000.In the domestic market,the joint-venture brand MPV locates in the high-end market,and its styling design tends to be streamlined,while the self-owned brand MPV model design focuses more on the design characteristics of Founder.By combing the information obtained from the questionnaire survey and actual interviews,it is found that besides price factors,consumers pay most attention to the appearance,internal space,functionality and comfort of MPV.From this,the paper draws the conclusion that the design features of MPV are household,fashion,comfort and detail.Considering the needs of consumers and the design features of MPV models,the paper considers that the length of MPV vehicles with household functions should be controlled around 4800 mm,the width should be around 1800 mm,and the wheelbase should be between 2800 and 2900 mm.The minimalist design concept should be adopted to abandon the tedious details and pay attention to the space and the overall shape structure.According to the demand of domestic consumers for future MPV modeling features,the paper completes the design of MPV model effect map under the guidance of minimalist design concept.The main research focus of this paper is on the appearance of vehicles,which is not related to materials,engineering and other aspects.In addition,the questionnaire survey is only conducted in Liaoning Province,and the results of the survey have certain geographical limitations.and the independent brand has square style characteristics;secondly,it analyses the application of formal beauty principle in MPV shape design;Finally,according to the survey results of consumer demand in Chapter III,summarizes the consumer's needs for home MPV styling design,and designs a minimalist style home MPV model according to the consumer demand of MPV.
