With the rapid development of the economy,the number of private car ownership in China has more than quadrupled in the past decade.The traffic demand of residents has exploded,far exceeding the existing urban transportation network service capacity.,The resulting traffic problems,including traffic congestion,environmental degradation,frequent traffic accidents,etc.,have become a persistent problem that constrains the healthy development of cities.Traffic simulation technology provides an effective way to solve these problems.Computer traffic simulation technology has many obvious advantages compared to other traffic analysis techniques.With the development of intelligent transportation system(ITS),it has become one of the hotspots in the field of traffic engineering in various countries.Firstly,on the basis of fully studying the development and research status of micro-traffic simulation technology at home and abroad,this paper summarizes and analyses the achievements and shortcomings of micro-traffic simulation research at present.Based on the analysis of urban road traffic flow characteristics,the simulation model framework of the system is established,including intersection description model,vehicle generation model,traffic rules model,vehicle driving behavior model,vehicle trajectory model and simulation evaluation model.In this paper,the car-following model is studied in detail.After comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the existing car-following models,the IDM model under the influence of the signal lamp is selected as the car-following model of the system developed in this paper.Subsequently,based on the object-oriented approach,this paper developed a microscopic simulation system for signal control intersections using C#development tool Visual Studio 2015.Detailed work includes:analysis of the functional requirements of the simulation system,the establishment of the overall structure and process of the system,the design of the main classes,and the implementation of the main modules.The simulation system provides an interactive interface,which supports users to input signal timing parameters and traffic flow parameters to the system.The graphical interface is convenient for users to observe the simulation process intuitively,including the real-time animation of traffic flow operation,the display state of signal lamp and the change of vehicle speed.The system will output simulation evaluation indicators including intersection delay and vehicle travel time at the end of a simulation.Finally,a simulation case of a signalized intersection is introduced.The user can visually observe the traffic flow in the intersection and optimize the signal timing by the output evaluation index.The IDM model under the influence of the signalized intersection is verified,and the feasibility of applying the IDM model to the signal control intersection is preliminarily proved.
