In recent years,with the rapid urbanization,the city scale has expanded in a pie-like manner.Behind the goal of efficiency,street construction is too rough.Motor traffic which lead to the street design not only separates the organic connection with urban space but also protect the rights and interests of other street travelers hardly.Therefore,under the premise of refinement of urban planning and development of road city block,the design of street needs urgent improvement.Guided by the link-space theory and the concept of complete streets,this essay takes the old city of Nanning as an example,which focus on the study of street classification,complete street cross-sectional design and space design,etc,using Peter Jones’s Link-Space Classification,GIS Analysis and Field observation method,and realize the rational allocation of street space and improve its quality,guiding healthy lifestyle.And the main research results and conclusions are as follows:Firstly,this essay summarizes the theoretical basis of dynamic link-space for complete street design research,and clears the point of both deficiency of the research and the breakthrough.Secondly,the POI(point of interest)data and road network data of Nanning city are simultaneously divided in the way of two-sided segmentation of streets.The two-dimensional classification of streets in Nanning’s old city has been completed with GIS.Moreover,from the perspective of integrity,on-the-spot investigation of the current situation of the streets illustrates the problems of different types of streets.Verifying the characteristics of the classified lower blocks and provide basis for cross-sectional design.Next,it specifies the design principles,cross-sectional dimensions and street elements of all kinds of complete streets in Nanning’s old city.Putting forward the strategy and tactics suitable for local space reconstruction.The standard cross-sectional diagrams of 20 types of streets are presented and the method of Resiliently Control is given.Finally,empirical research and specific optimization design are carried out on several representative blocks.Looking forward to have certain reference significance for the construction of streets in Nanning’s old city.The classification results show that:There is no necessary relationship between link and space,and low-grade roads are more important public spaces in cities.And the functional changes on both sides of streets with the same link level are more abundant,classification results differ from traditional street classifications.Current streets should be repositioned based on fine classification and be selectively adapted to complete street design.
