Research On Classification In Renewal Of Old City Streets In Beijing Based On Type Units

Beijing is an ancient capital for thousands of years,and the old city has witnessed the change and development of Beijing’s history.The difference between the old city and the old city is that the old city feels decayed and backward,while the old city represents the precipitation of history and culture,which is the most charming and humane place in a city.The renewal of Beijing’s old city covers many aspects such as production and life,livability and business.It is a forward-looking and leading background.Departments at all levels in Beijing have successively implemented various tasks such as environmental improvement of back streets and alleys,improvement of slow-moving spaces,improvement of street facades,and improvement of alleys in the old city.Most of the domestic renewal concepts,renewal methods,and renewal models originated in the western developed regions,and are still in the initial stage of renewal.In the process of studying street renewal,it was found that there are still gaps in the study of street types.There are different classification standards,independent classification systems,and The classification result is one-sided problem.The process of street classification is a process of reorganizing the style and re-perceiving the space.Street classification is the key to street renewal.To solve the problem of the source of renewal spatially,it is necessary to reclassify the street.Based on this,this research uses typology and graphical methods to classify and update the street space of Beijing’s old city.Firstly,it sorts out the development and evolution of street types at home and abroad,as well as the research progress of street types by domestic and foreign experts and scholars,as well as the planning basis for classification in the United States,the United Kingdom,Japan and China.Summarized into a basic street classification method under different periods,different goals and perspectives.Based on the characteristics of Beijing’s streets and hutongs,it was found in the field survey that the old city has naturally formed different street types in the long-term development,which are dynamically growing and constantly changing.Each hutong and street has its own “character”.Street “collage” has become a unique landscape of the old city,reflecting the spatial characteristics of the old city’s street style,the old and new blending,the collage of street morphology fragments,the diversified changes in street scales,the changing needs of street activities,and the vague and overlapping spatial characteristics of road ownership.According to the different features of the current streets and alleys in the facade and plan,three types of streets are summarized:traditional style area,general built-up area,and mixed street.Then,according to the combination relationship of street and street elements,the concept and construction principle of type unit are proposed.The three major types are refined into more refined type units.From the three levels of street environment remodeling,regional atmosphere creation,and interface element control,the street renewal strategy is proposed.Based on the current situation type,corresponding to the current street type unit,the updated guidance unit and update strategy are proposed.Summarize the principles,methods and characteristics of classification update.Finally,three streets in Xicheng District are used as examples to use and verify the current type units and guidance type units.This research expands the methods and paths of street renewal.It is hoped that in the future,the street types in Beijing’s old city will become clearer,more sophisticated,and the environment more and more tidy.
