This thesis is based on lessons and achievement in quality and inclusive service delivery on urban residents travel pattern.The purpose of the study is to serve as guide for future urban centers to avoided urban growth problems and prepare for the urbanization trends.Windhoek is a capital city and economic hub of Namibia,Windhoek municipality structural alignments is best in strategies and implementation policies,combined with well qualified human resource.Windhoek urban is served by a public bus network operating and providing service in townships.Windhoek public bus challenge is usage,inefficient in attracting large number of ridership,limited to three operation routes a day.In recent years Windhoek municipality purchased a number of buses to increase bus frequency in residents,despite the new buses,Windhoek's urban resident's travelling modes is taxi and car.A research was conducted between 2018 September and 2019 June at Beijing Jiaotong University.The research framework began in conducted a review on urban planning affairs in Namibia,Windhoek a major city in Namibia was selected as a study area on the impact of land use on urban residents travel's patterns.The methodology used is objective study,using qualitative and quantitative data,primary and secondary data collection.A critical assessment of land use and correlation study among land use elements and modal splits per townships in Windhoek.The use of ArcGIS exploration maps,excel graphs and SPSS is employed to define the influencing factors of land use elements.Windhoek showed a strong and good strategy as well as achievement in developments and implemented future plans,the cause and correlation in public transport usage is complex but aggravates to the conclusion on urban land use that promotes effective and functional cities.Recommendations is inclusive economic markets and development initiations to improve quality urban life and travel patterns using a case study of Windhoek.
