Research On The Improvement Of China’s Home Appliance Industry’s International Competitiveness Through OFDI

In the face of increasingly fierce competition and saturated domestic market,it is very important for the home appliance industry in maturity to make breakthroughs and create new economic growth points.In recent years,the scale of OFDI in the China’s home appliance industry has continued to expand,and it has promoted competitiveness through OFDI.However,there are both opportunities and risks for Chinese home appliance enterprises to develop OFDI.Some home appliance enterprises have made OFDI for the purpose of seeking market and technology so as to enhance the international competitiveness.On the other hand,the excessive investment of home appliance enterprises makes its capital consumption,and also did not get core technology.Therefore,it is more important to study the relationship between OFDI and international competitiveness of Chinese home appliance enterprises.This paper is based on the analysis of the international competitiveness of China’s home appliance industry,study the impact of OFDI in enhancing international competitiveness.The research methods are theoretical research and case analysis.First,choose the diamond model in many theoretical models of international competitiveness,theoretically systematically analyze the international competitiveness of China’s home appliance industry,and combine the foreign direct investment situation,and further studies the influence of foreign direct investment on improving the international competitiveness of China’s home appliance industry,and expounds the necessity of OFDI in China’s home appliance industry.Then combined with specific cases of China’s home appliance enterprises based on the promotion of international competitiveness OFDI practices are analyzed in depth,through analyzes the OFDI practices of Haier and Hisense in recent years,although the time and purpose of this two companies to "go out" are different,but they all chose to participate in the international market competition through OFDI,which proved that the four aspects of the diamond model of home appliance enterprises can be enhanced through OFDI,so as to enhance the international competitiveness of home appliance industry.In the end,based on the above theories and conclusion of case analysis,this paper puts forward some suggestions to enhance the international competitiveness of China’s home appliance industry.
