Automobile industry has a fast development in China in the last 10 years.Cost performance is the main index to evaluate the vehicle for the terminal customer.It means high quality performance and with competitiveness price.There are more and more high requirement for the vehicle performance and perceived quality.For the previous customer,they only require the vehicle has durability and good economy for mid-range car before.But now,as the peoples’ expectations improved,they have higher requirements for perceived quality.So the task is harder for the vehicle manufacture.One car must need four wheels at least.The unit price reduction of wheel will take big contribution to the vehicle.And meanwhile,wheel is appearance component;it can reflect the vehicle personalization.So high performance and high perceived quality and low cost is the ultimate goal of wheel design.High performance means the smaller run out on wheel lateral and radial and smaller moment of inertia,and higher stiffness and strength requirements,which would require a higher dynamic stability and reliability.Perceived quality means luxury,shiny,changeable style,the lower the better for the price.At present,our country automobile wheels industry has a big gap with the industrialized country,especially the application of a new manufacturing technology.Many wheel companies are intensifying the efforts on product research and development,paying close attention to product design optimization and application of computer aided design,shorten the wheel development lead time greatly.The thesis is based on the wheel as the research object,Standing on the Angle of vehicle platforms to design wheel,and put forward the optimization scheme to achieve the purpose of the vehicle cost reducing.Combining with the basic theory analysis of the finite element analysis method,optimization wheel structure is obtained by several rounds of modification.Design one aluminum wheel and one spinning steel wheel,adjust the vehicle configuration optimization proposal.Designed a lightweight low-cost aluminum alloy wheels,based on the mature design experience combining FEA analysis,the new alloy wheel weight was reduced 0.2 kg.Meanwhile,it can meet the requirement of the appearance of the stylist.The design of the steel wheel using high strength steel material substitution and new manufacture process which is rim spinning,the steel wheel weight was reduced 1.2 kg.The wheels with different wheel cover,can replace part of aluminum wheel configuration models.For vehicle platform configuration,it added a center selection,which can realize the vehicle cost reduction,also can realize the beautiful appearance requirements.
