The uniformity of load distribution of locomotive wheels (axles) plays an essential role in the adherence of hauling capability and dynamic and brake performance for high-speed and heavy-load locomotives. For the locomotive with secondary hanging structure, its supporting spring load distribution is the main factor to influence weight distribution of locomotive wheels (axles).The statically indeterminate supporting structure, the deviation of synthetical rigidity and deformation in the elastic connection between each wheelset and locomotive and the deviation of the gravity center of locomotive shall consequentionally cause load on each wheelset not uniform. The emphasis of this paper is to minimize the ultimate deviation of each wheel load from mean load by adjusting actual deformation(add washer, "spring adjustment" for short)associating with actual synthetical rigidity of each spring supporting on the basis of measuring the value of gravity center deviation. Contents as following:1. Educe the minimum value of the maximal deviations of each wheelsetload from mean load when locomotive gravity center deviation is known.2. Give the scheme to distribute the wheelset load under the minimum status.3. Give the way to reach the status by adjusting the thickness of primary and secondary spring4. Give the maximum accepted deviation value of gravity center of each type locomotive if meet above perfect status by adjusting spring under existing manufacture standard of locomotiveAccording to the conclusion resulting from above study, two projects to solvethe spring adjustment problem are brought forward. They are design respectively forbogie load testing spring test-rig and locomotive body load testing spring test-rig. Thefirst spring and the secondary spring are adjusted in their own test-rig. By theresearch, this paper puts forward design requirements for the two test-rigs'manufacture.It also gives the main introduction of specific development and design relating to the locomotive body load testing spring test-rig .The axle load distribution is not uniform, this is mainly due to imperfect distribution of secondary load under the locomotive structure existed and actual manufacture. It is significant to develop and design locomotive body load testing spring test-rig to improve axle load distribution. The test-rig of locomotive body load test spring shall furthest minimize the influence of data error of locomotive body and spring and clearance of supporting height and so on caused during manufacture by optimal adjusting with increasing thickness of each secondary spring of locomotive body ("secondary spring adjustment"for short) which is the most effective way to improve axle load distribution to minimize the deviation of load distribution on secondary supporting.Finally, after actual manufacture, mounting, commissioning and application, the test-rig confirms the academic research. The end of this paper shall put forward some reformative suggestions on test-rig and also some advices relating some questions in locomotive body manufacture through actual test of each type locomotive body.
