Research On The Protection And Development Of Traditional Villages In The Construction Of Characteristic Towns

The traditional villages are the rural museums of nature,which contains abundant historical and cultural resources.The traditional villages in Shaxi area have been well protected,and there are plenty of historical and cultural monuments.Diversified culture blends here,showing the characteristics of the unity of "town" and "village" in the same material space,which forming a traditional village group with great protection value within the dam area.Now,the characteristic towns have been built in Shaxi area.It is a common phenomenon that the construction brings about a conflict between the method of building the large-scale constructions and the protection of traditional villages in Shaxi as well as in the whole area of Dali.This research combs through the features of these traditional villages firstly,and summarizes the current status and problems in the protection and development of material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage,and analyzes opportunities and challenges in the process of protecting traditional villages and developing characteristic towns at the same time,then puts forward corresponding principals for the protection and the development.At last,this research suggests some measures for protection and development from the "town" level and the "village" level according to features of Shaxi.For the "town",protection comes from five aspects,such as overall environment,street space,architecture,historical environmental elements and intangible cultural heritage,while developing industrial space,road traffic,tourism service,cultural creativity and plateau modern agriculture to.For the "village",to protect is to formulate the regulations of managing villages from three different types of protected areas,while promoting the development from five village types separately,such as tourism development impacted villages,road traffic impacted villages,agricultural development impacted villages,natural environment impacted villages and non-legacy resources impacted villages.Besides,according to the difference of the confliction of characteristic towns and traditional villages,this research divides the relationships into five kinds,which are fusion type,inclusion type,intersection type and radiation type,and puts forward measures for protection and development.
