With the rapid development of highway engineering construction,the construction parties have stricter requirements on the quality,schedule,safety and efficiency of the construction of the project.Traditional project management has been difficult to solve the problems of complex management objects,huge management data,and collaborative sharing.Meanwhile,China's current project management status and management effects are not optimistic,with low construction efficiency,slow progress,and serious waste of resources.In order to meet the needs of engineering development and improve the efficiency of engineering construction,it is necessary to propose an advanced management method of standardization and informatization.The rapid development of Building Information Model(BIM)provides a development opportunity for project management.Combining project management with BIM technology will bring about a huge change in project management development.BIM is not only the integration of information,but also the application of digital information.It can be applied in all stages of plan,design and construction of engineering construction,and runs through the whole life cycle of project construction.Combining it with the project management life cycle can provide a qualitative leap for the development of engineering management,effectively control investment costs,reduce pollution,improve project construction quality,progress,safety,and realize the whole life cycle management in the real sense.This paper mainly analyzes the characteristics of BIM technology and modern management concepts.Through the research on BIM standard system framework of construction industry and railway BIM standard system framework,it summarizes the coding standard system of BIM in various industries,and carries out highway engineering project management and BIM technology.The effective combination has formed the following research results,Based on the division of engineering entities,the BIM model decomposition and coding rules based on units,divisions and sub-projects were established.Based on the roadbed pavement engineering,the research on BIM information classification and engineering coding was innovated.Mapping the engineering code with the "three-level list" model of Guangdong Province can highlight the rationality and superiority of engineering coding;It is the combining BIM engineering coding with computer technology and mobile internet technology,and usage of collaborative management platform based on BIM technology to realize collection,process,storage,transmission and sharing of construction engineering information,that provide theoretical basis and practical significance for the development and application of BIM technology in China's highway engineering transportation industry.
