With the development of modern landscape design,the construction of campus landscape architecture of university and college is ushered to be humanized,ecological,and intelligent under the guidance of novel design theory.As an essential carrier reflecting the campus ideas and its cultural features,campus landscape serves as not only the necessary material guarantee of students’ life but also an important place that can cultivate their temperament imperceptibly.It is one of the crucial topics in campus planning.Since the campus landscape space is mainly used by students,it ought to meet the psychological and behavioral demands of them.In order to create a campus environment conducive to the growth of students,it should be constructed through a comprehensive analysis of students’ behavior and psychological needs and actively explore the campus landscape design principles based on human-centered design combined with the geographical and cultural features of the campus.By summarizing the advanced campus landscape design theories in China and the west,this paper studies the strategies of campus landscape design and introduces the people-centered concept.Starting from students,the main user of the landscape on campus,the paper points out the problems in current campus design with the basis on behavioral science and environmental psychology.Besides,it raises appropriate principles of campus landscape planning and discusses the corresponding design strategies from the perspective of the user and provides guidance for further design practice with excellent cases of campus planning at home and abroad.Finally,the design theory is applied to practice to create a campus space that meets the students’ behavioral needs by taking the landscape design of Qilu Normal University as an example.
