With the rapid development of rail transit,urbanization has accelerated and the urban population has increasingly spread to the suburbs,resulting in a series of social problems.In this environment,a public transport-oriented development(TOD)model came into being.The TOD model can not only improve the utilization rate of land resources,but also effectively solve the "urban disease" and reshape the urban spatial form,which is an inevitable trend of China’s future development of large cities.Nowadays,urban complex projects developed under the TOD model are emerging one after another.The design of the transitional space connecting the building function space and the rail transit station is an important part of the three-dimensional and composite relationship space.The intermediary space referred to in this article is a carrier with a transitional connection space.This paper starts with the analysis of the concept and development of the intermediary space between TOD urban complex and rail transit stations,combined with the domestic TOD urban complex projects,discusses the main problems existing in the intermediary space,analyzes the composition and combination mode of the intermediary space,and finally puts forward the design strategy of the intermediary space from various aspects.In the first and second chapters of this paper,firstly,the concept definition and theoretical research of TOD urban complex and intermediary space are carried out.Four typical TOD urban complex cases in Hong Kong,Guangzhou,Shanghai and Hangzhou are analyzed,and the existing problems of intermediary space are summarized from the aspects of space,function and streamline.In the third chapter,from the perspective of the ontology research of the intermediary space,through the special research on the spatial attributes,elements,combination methods and functional composition of the intermediary space,to clarify the essential characteristics of the intermediary space and the connection and combination relationship.In the fourth and fifth chapter of this paper,based on the previous research,five principles of intermediary space design are proposed to determine the design direction of TOD urban complex intermediary space design.On this basis,the design strategy of intermediary space is proposed from three aspects:space,transportation and function.In the aspect of spatial design strategy,the paper expounds the macro spatial layout,spatial connection mode and micro humanized spatial design,and puts forward the spatial optimization In the aspect of methods suitable for different intermediary spatial connection modes;In the aspect of traffic organization,the paper analyzes each functional streamline and public transport connection organization,and systematically combs the traffic organization modes under different TOD complex planning layout;In terms of functional composition,firstly,the functional hierarchy of core spatial elements is defined,and the functional organization and extension strategies of different intermediary spatial elements are proposed.It is expected to provide valuable theoretical guidance and strategic reference for the design of intermediary space between TOD urban complex and rail transit stations in the future.
