Currently, rapid economic development, population growth, urbanization and other factors aggravate brought great pressure on the urban traffic in our country, private transport and public transport contradictions have become increasingly prominent, urban passenger transport will face challenges. The subway system use their own advantages, as a solution to urban traffic problems in a powerful means, is beginning to play its great potential to develop rapid rail transit as the backbone of the city of three-dimensional new public transport system, the solution is the only way to urban traffic problems. Subway Construction in our country has just started, there are many successful foreign experience is worth studying and learning from. We should be building a better subway station. Subway traffic to form coverage, and other essential traffic on the way to form a good convergence interface. Raising awareness of the transfer facilities and conditions to make it more effective to connect urban transportation and property space, and promoting regional development, the progressive realization of three-dimensional city, which is the basic idea of the subway station complex construction.The subway station complex is to achieve the conversion of traffic system and integration of property space. On this point, this paper tried to point out that the concept of intermediary space, the meaning is including:firstly, as a medium of the junction space in the subway station complex, the intermediary space should include the conversion space of the subway and city transport system, the integration of subway and city property (mainly business) space, the space which is between the station platform and the station hall, and the space which is between the station platform and the subway compartment. Secondly, in addition to the media function, the intermediary space should also be room for a catalytic role. That is,through combining the conversion space and the urban function, to alleviate the pressure on urban traffic, activated the urban space, driven the commercial consumption, so that the subway station complex will become the catalyst of urban development.Through case studies on the space features between the subway function and the other function, on the basis of the analysis and summarized, this paper point out the design strategy of intermediary space for the suway station complex, as well as figure out that as a catalyst, the subway station complex will promote the development of surrounding areas. To the purpose of providing a theoretical basis for the design of the subway construction in future, and as a follow-up study for reference. At the same time, there is a great practical significance for the near future Changsha subway construction.
