Geographic location,climate and ecologic conditions of South-East Asian countries give significant number of advantages in economic development.Lao PDR also one of these"luckiest" countries,however,there is one negative factor in its geographic location-country has no access to the sea.This factor is the main difficulty factor for Lao PDR in sea transportation,foreign trade mainly depends on land transportation due to the obstacle of geographic conditions.This is mainly because transportation cost directly affects to the final price of goods and services.The more transport cost,the higher prices,consequently goods and services become more attractive.This paper studies port choice option for Lao PDR which can be good solution for the issues mentioned above.In order to archive the main goal,first,transportation system in Lao PDR were analyze by considering all types of transportation in the country.The next part of research focused on studying the development of international trade between Lao PDR and neighbor countries as well as the ways of transportation between them.As the main model of port choice for Lao PDR was used "Entropy Model".The port investment index,natural condition,Maximum depth of shoreline,hydro meteor,economic environment,GDP Export and Import,Investment Environment,Political Stability,Corruption Index,Basic for cooperation,Distance Port Trade volume to Lao PDR were used as the main criteria for calculation in the model all statistics data are based on Thailand Port,Vietnam Port,China Port,Myanmar Port and Cambodia Port.The demonstrate of calculation will indicate the final result for the most significant option for port choice.In the final part of the research was dedicated for the analysis of government policy and future perspectives of transportation in Lao PDR.Moreover,in this part the relationship with Vietnam in transportation also studied.
