Line-replaceable Units(LRU)are designed to offset the downtime of aircraft with the cost of spare parts.However,with the wide usage in civil aircraft maintenance,there is insufficient attention to LRU due to the stable maintenance process.Depending on the specific condition,there may be situations in which the downtime saved by using the LRU cannot make up for the cost of spare parts.By collecting the progress data,disposal time of LRU's internal fault is converted to parking loss.With the comparation of LRU's price,the result can provide a basis for judging whether or not the LRU is suitable for the operator.By analyzing the layout characteristics of component maintenance manual(CMM),showing the regular expression of filtering fault isolation and maintenance data.Combining the detailed parts list(DPL)with the corresponding illustration,MODAPTS is used to count the time spent on the maintenance process.According to the actual situation of the operator,saved maintenance time is converted to loss avoided from longer downtime.Comparing the loss and the price of LRU listed on Recommended Spare Parts List(RSPL),achieved LRU optimization and maintenance cost control for specific operator.In addition,by analyzing structure and features of the component,fault and corresponding parts could be aimed.Using DPL and illustration,collecting the amount and connection info within LRU.Then,programming code for solving the route of aimed parts with fault isolation process.Due to all the needed info can also be given during the design phase,the process of calculating internal maintenance time and the parking loss within this interval could be bring forward.So,the operators can participate in designing progress by making their requests about the maintenance time and price to Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM).
