In recent years,China's intercity railways have developed vigorously,but the spatial-temporal distribution of passenger flows is significantly unbalanced.The traditional single-group mode with too small intervals is likely to cause slack transportation capacity,and too large intervals will reduce the service level.In order to match the transportation capacity with the spatial-temporal distribution of passenger flows and reduce enterprise operating costs and passenger travel costs,this paper studies the multi-group train operation plan of intercity railway.The main work and conclusions are as follows:(1)The operation of 28 domestic intercity railway lines and trains is analyzed in four aspects: line overview,train operation,passenger flow characteristics,enterprise profit and loss.It is summarized that the recent intercity railway operation has problems such as low real seat occupation rate,too long train departure intervals,too low station service frequency,single train group mode which cannot match train capacity with the spatial-temporal distribution of passenger flows,and most operating enterprises are suffering losses.The multi-group train operation plan considering multiple stopping modes can effectively solve these problems.Therefore,it is necessary to study the multi-group train operation plan considering multiple stopping modes with the objective of enterprise operating costs and passenger travel costs.(2)Concentrating on the enterprise cost,an enterprise cost model of multi-group train operation plan with the objective of minimizing enterprise operating costs related to the train is constructed,which uses the operation number of trains of each group type and the stop sequence as the decision variables,and it is solved by GA algorithms,then the full-day multi-group train operation plan is obtained.Research shows that comparing to the full-day single-group train operation plan,the full-day multi-group train operation plan can lead the enterprise operating costs related to the train reduce by 42.01%,including the EMU purchase costs reduce by 36.36%,the EMU maintenance costs reduce by 36.36%,the train operating costs reduce by 45.00%,the train stop costs reduce by 42.93%,the labor costs reduce by 24.24%.And the average daily capacity rate increased from 0.272 to 0.513.(3)Concentrating on the passenger cost,a passenger cost model of multi-group train operation plan with the objective of minimizing passenger travel costs is constructed,which uses the operation number of trains of each group type and the stop sequence as the decision variables,a passenger cost model of multi-group train operation plan is constructed,and it is solved by GA algorithms,then the full-day multi-group train operation plan is obtained.Research shows that comparing to the full-day single-group train operation plan,the full-day multi-group train operation plan can lead the passenger travel costs reduce by 31.76%,including the passenger waiting time costs reduce by 35.13%,the passenger on-board time costs reduce by 31.64%.The average daily capacity rate increase by 5.26% and the average daily departure interval reduce by 34.46%.(4)The spatial-temporal distribution form of passenger flow in the existing intercity railways in China is summarized,and aiming at the enterprise cost and the passenger cost,the application effect of multi-group mode under eight spatial-temporal distribution form passenger flow such as peak-ladder,peak-gradient,peak-intermediate,peak-equivalent,peak-free-ladder,peak-free-gradient,peak-free-intermediate,and peak-free-equivalent is studied.Research shows that compared with the single-group mode,multi-group mode can reduce the enterprise operating costs related to the train by 34.02% to 49.05% and decrease the passenger travel costs by 7.73% to 31.76%.The multi-group mode under eight spatial-temporal distribution form passenger flow has a good application effect.
