As an emerging digital technology,virtual reality has been widely used in many fields.However,the research on the combination of virtual reality and architectural design teaching has just started,and it is mostly theoretical research,lacking scientific and detailed quantitative analysis.The research on the influence law,path and path of virtual reality on architectural design thinking is still unclear.Therefore,a systematic study based on the influence of virtual reality on architectural design thinking is of necessity and practical significance.The research comprehensively uses theoretical research,teaching experiments and questionnaire research methods to subjectively and objectively evaluate the role of virtual reality technology in architectural design teaching.First,the theoretical research part takes the constructivist learning theory as the overall theoretical framework to analyze the role of virtual reality in architectural design teaching;establish a scoring system based on the Tower of Experience theory and explain the path of knowledge acquisition;determine the stage of knowledge acquisition based on the SECI model theory;Analyze teaching methods with situational learning theory,and compare the effects of interactive teaching of traditional architectural design and anchored teaching of virtual reality.Secondly,the teaching experiment is based on the two architectural design courses of the third-year undergraduates of Beijing Jiaotong University.It divides the experimental group using virtual reality from the control group not using.The scores of the design work are obtained through double-blind method as objective evaluation data.The SPSS independent sample T test method is used to qualitatively analyze the experimental data,and the linear regression is used to determine the magnitude of the impact and quantitative analysis to study whether virtual reality can play a role,as well as the attributes,degrees,and differences of students with different abilities and genders.Sexually develop objects and utility research.Third,we conducted questionnaire surveys on teachers and students to obtain teaching feedback;subjectively and objectively analyze the questionnaire data and experimental data to verify the teaching effect of virtual reality.Finally,based on the above analysis results,try to analyze the influence path of virtual reality on architectural design thinking,and provide a more clear and reasonable reference for teaching practice.Based on the research and exploration of the virtual reality influence path,influence group and influence effect,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Virtual reality does have a positive influence on the teaching of architectural design,and can complement the traditional media.In the early stage of investigation and concept creation,sketches and solid models are mainly used.In the stage of perfect expression and design evaluation,virtual reality and computers are mainly used to maximize the teaching effect.(2)Virtual reality has the greatest effect on the experience of doing,and some of the scoring items even exceed the traditional media.Virtual reality should be used when gaining experience in the design process;solid models and computers are mainly used when gaining experience in observation;sketches can be used to complement the advantages of the medium and achieve the best teaching effect when gaining experience in observation.(3)When using virtual reality,pay attention to the difference in its impact on learners of different abilities and genders,and encourage excellent students to use it;learners with intermediate abilities should use it with guidance,and encourage the use of virtual reality when gaining experience.Obtain observation experience and abstract experience when using traditional media to avoid the emergence of negative effects;for students of different genders,women can be encouraged to use virtual reality,and men can choose to use it in conjunction with their own learning difficulties.
