High-speed railway enters the high-speed passenger market as a new mode of transportation. And high-speed railway has affected the supply of civil aviation on the same line by the characteristics of fast speed, high frequency, and quasi-time.Also it indirectly reduces or even suspends the number of civil aviation flights. With the development of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail networks, more and more high-speed rail lines have been put into operation, intensifying the competition between civil aviation and high-speed rail.On the other hand, the gradual liberalization of domestic air rights has made competition in China's civil aviation industry more intense.Ten million domestic airports have made the airport capacity saturated. At the same time, with the effective implementation of civil aviation supply-side reforms, civil aviation industry has begun to optimize route structures, flight schedule, and to control the total amount of flights. Then the competition in airspace resources and flight schedule resources is more intense. In this context,it is of great significance to study the impact of transportation market competition on civil aviation supply. The main literature on civil aviation supply can be divided into three aspects:mechanism analysis, influencing factor analysis and empirical method analysis. From the perspective of mechanism, most of the literature focuses on the impact of market structure and competition between modes of transportation on civil aviation supply. From the perspective of influencing factors, economic geography variables, market structure variables, transportation market variables are the main research contents. From the perspective of empirical methods,DIDs model,GMM model, gravity model, etc.are widely used. However,it is uncommon to consider and emulate the SDM factors of the degree of competition at all times, and there is also some research space for the theoretical analysis of the impact of transportation market attributing competition on civil aviation supply. This article divides the competition of transportation markets into different transportation modes(the competition between high-speed rail and civil aviation)and the same transportation mode(that is,the competition between civil aviation industry).Based on the existing research, this article combines the transportation market theory, market competition theory, etc.to study the impact mechanism of transportation market competition on the supply of civil aviation seats and flights, and analyze how the transportation market competition affect the supply of civil aviation seats and flights between different and same transportation modes. In terms of empirical analysis, this paper constructs a fixed-effect model and a double-difference model to conduct an empirical analysis of the impact of transportation market competition on the supply of civil aviation seats and flights from the national and regional levels. In addition, this paper also uses a double differential model to measure the impact of the competition of transportation markets on the supply of civil aviation before and after the opening of the high-speed rail and the year in which the high-speed rail has been opened. The main conclusions are as follows.(1)From the data of nationwide civil aviation and high-speed rail overlapping lines, the ratio of the total duration of civil aviation and high-speed rail travel and the ratio of the total cost of civil aviation and high-speed rail travel have a significant negative impact on civil aviation supply.(2)Both the market concentration of civil aviation HHI and the competitive SDM have a significant impact on the supply of civil aviation.(3)The opening of high-speed rail has a negative and significant impact on civil aviation supply, and from the perspective of regional impact, the opening of high-speed rail on the eastern-eastern route has a more significant impact on civil aviation supply. This conclusion is consistent with most existing research conclusions.Match.(4)The impact of the years of high-speed railway opening on the supply of civil aviation varies. On the whole, the impact of the first year of high-speed rail on the supply of civil aviation is not significant, and it has a significant negative impact from the second year to the sixth year of high-speed rail, and the degree of impact increases with the increase of the opening period. However, after the seventh year of operation, the impact on civil aviation supply was not significant, indicating that the impact of high-speed rail on civil aviation will eventually have a time decay effect.
