The income level of the people in the new era is constantly increasing, and the economic, political, and cultural communication between regions is continuously increasing. In addition,China has a vast territory. So,the demand for long-distance passenger transportation in China continues to grow.Railway passenger transportation and civil aviation passenger transportation are the main components of the modern longdistance passenger transportation system.Today, when the transportation industry is fully marketized, the study of choice behaviors of passengers for long-distance travel mode is an important basis for railway and civil aviation departments to design passenger transport products that meet the needs of the passenger transport market or adjust existing passenger transport products.Besides,it has an important reference value for improving the overall planning and management of long-distance passenger transportation, avoiding disorderly competition, and improving the overall service level and efficiency of the passenger transportation market. This paper firstly defines the travel distance of 800-1500 kilometers as long-distance travel based on the competition between different distances of railway transportation and civil aviation transportation, takes four long-distance travel modes that include highspeed rail/electric train,EMU sleeper, ordinary train and civil aviation as the research object, adds two extended latent variables of travel habits and perceived value of frequent flyer program based on the theory of planned behavior, and proposes a psychological decision-making framework for long-distance travel mode selection.Secondly, this paper designs the RP&SP questionnaire, constructs and solves the MNL model of passenger long-distance travel mode choice behavior based on the questionnaire data, and analyzes the limitations of the MNL model. Finally, this paper constructs an ICLV model of passengers' long-distance travel mode choice behavior which integrates structural equation model and discrete choice model, and systematically analyzes the relationship between passenger psychological latent variables and corresponding measured variables, the relationship between latent variables and the relationship between individual characteristics and latent variables, and comprehensively studies the influence of passenger's individual characteristics, travel characteristics, travel mode characteristics, connection characteristics and psychological latent variables on the choice of longdistance travel mode based on the whole process of passenger travel. The main results of the study show that attitude toward the behavior, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, habits and perceived value of frequent flyer program all have a positive effect on behavior intention;age, occupation, monthly income, travel distance, travel purpose, travel cost source, weather conditions, travel time, travel cost,pre-travel connection mode and time and after-travel connection mode and time are all obvious factors that affect passengers' choice behaviors for long-distance travel mode;attitude toward the behavior, perceived behavior control, habit, perceived value of frequent flyer program and behavior intention are the latent factors that affect passengers' choice behaviors for long-distance travel mode;compared with traditional MNL model,ICLV model integrating latent variables has higher model accuracy and goodness-of-fit.The innovations of this paper are as follows. This paper studies the choice behaviors of passengers' long-distance(800-1500km)travel mod,and there is little literature in this field;this paper systematically analyzes the interaction between various latent variables based on the theory of planned behavior;this paper studies the influence of the pre-travel and after-travel connection modes and time of the travel mode on the passengers' choice behaviors of travel mode based on the whole process of passenger travel, and considers the role of the railway frequent passenger program carried out by the railway and the frequent flyer program carried out by various airline companies on the passengers' choice behaviors of long-distance travel mode, which is more in line with the actual situation of the selection of passengers.33 pictures,26 tables,92 references.
