Study On Quality Improvement Of Street Space On The Xisibei Area In Beijing Ancient City

The country’s economy is improving,society is progressing,and the quality of public space is increasingly related to the living standards of citizens.Through the continuous accumulation of historical evolution and dynasty changes,the public spaces and textures of historical and cultural blocks and newly built blocks are very different.With the changes in the way of life and travel of the crowd and the increase in the population base,the lack of public space in the historical blocks and the unauthorized use of private occupation have also had a great negative impact on the historical blocks.Beijing’s Xisibei area is an important business card for Beijing’s old city and represents an excellent traditional Hutong culture.However,the changes in the texture of streets and lanes in the west and north areas cannot meet the needs of people’s lives.Therefore,the significance of this study is to pay attention to the real needs and behaviors of the residents of the block,improve the quality of the street space,and activate the vitality of the street space in the West Four North area without destroying the historical features of the West Four North area in Beijing.This article uses ancient literature map research,questionnaires,and graphic analysis to first study the relevant theories and cases of street space quality improvement,and then to study the historical evolution of Beijing’s Xisibei area and the characteristics of street space,add surveys and questionnaire interviews with various groups of people,from the two dimensions of traffic and communication,analyze the status quo and problems of the west and north areas,and provide a realistic basis for the improvement of space quality.Finally,on the basis of the actual basis,the methods of quality improvement are proposed from two different levels:improving the traffic capacity of streets and improving the quality of communication space.
