The Exploration Of Residential Space Design In Beijing Old City

With the development of urbanization,the renewal process of Beijing old city has never stopped.With the deepening of the exploration,the transformation mode of large-scale demolition is gradually replaced by the small-scale spatial transformation mode with the community as the unit.In recent years,under the background of organic renewal theory,a large amount of residential space renovation projects of quadrangles have emerged,among which there are some excellent cases such as " Si Fen yuan ",Jingyang Hutong quadrangle renovation projects,but more courtyard renovation cannot balance the relationship between modern life needs and traditional architectural culture.In addition,at the present stage,the renovation of residential space in quadrangle courtyard is still in the theoretical stage,and the renovation strategies and methods for specific space are insufficient.Therefore,the renovation of residential space in quadrangle courtyard needs more practice and exploration to establish a more complete theoretical system.The dissertation starts from the transformation background,explaining the necessity of the spatial transformation of traditional residential houses in the process of urban renewal from the two aspects of the current situation and the transformation reasons.The purpose,significance,object and scope of the research and related research methods are also described.Secondly,the theoretical status and practical cases of the spatial renewal and protection of traditional residential buildings at home and abroad are sorted out,and two typical cases of "four-branch courtyard" and "collection house" are analysed.Through the organization of the historical references and summaries of the historical process of old city renewal at present stage and the main traditional dwellings,the author found yard transformation internal law of the development of the traditional dwellings in the process of urban renewal and put forward diversified theories and reconstructions of small design concept and strategy based on the theory of organic renewal,then summarizes design methods and design key points adapt to the present residential courtyard.Based on this theory,the dissertation carries out renovation design for five project sites of no.31 courtyard at the gate of the palace,analyses the method of its space composition,and verifies the suitability of the renovation strategy.In order to provide a substantial reference for the future residential courtyard space renovation design.At last,this dissertation summarizes the importance of the renovation of hutong residential space at the present stage by combining with the cognition of the whole residential space of Beijing old city hutong,and puts forward some suggestions on the renovation of residential space in the future from the perspective of individuals.The purpose is to find a correct development path of traditional residential courtyard renovation and optimize the design concept in the renovation practice,and let more people participate in the activities of old city renewal and preservation.
