In recent years,along with the introduction of a series of relevant favorable policies and the change in people's consumption structure,ordinary people have more access to the museum than ever before,promoting the rising of museum cultural and creative industry.But one situation we have to face now is that China's development of this industry remains at a lower level,which is far from meeting the market demand.Based on this,and having participated in designing some museum cultural and creative products and analyzed the design of some outstanding ones at home and abroad,I summarized and studied the design approaches of museum derivatives,attempting to find out a new practical guiding theory about the museum derivatives.The products that derive from museum collections should not only focus on their appearance but their abundant cultural connotations.Thus based on that and with due considerations to the choice of design prototypes and initial design principles and methods,this paper analyses not only collections' appearance,operation,function,location as well as the story behind them from multi angles and levels.The paper also tries to conclude the of design characteristic museum derivatives,creates the link between derivatives and collections,digs the narrative function of the collection itself and increases the interactive experience between designers and users,all of which will provide an overall cultural experience for people and let them have an deeper,easier and more comprehensive understanding of the museum.
