The aluminum industry is another resource-intensive industry with huge output value after the steel industry.China’s aluminum production and alumina production capacity account for more than half of the global total.Since the beginning of 2017,the environmental protection has been strict, the domestic supply of bauxite is insufficient, but the demand for imported bauxite in China is increasing.Located on the south coast of Bohai Bay,Yantai Port is adjacent to the main channel of Bohai Shipping. It is a natural deep-water port, mainly engaged in the transit and transportation of bauxite, petroleum, iron ore and fertilizer.Under the “One Belt,One Road” strategic approach,Yantai Port has become a key port in the Bohai Bay region of the “Maritime Silk Road”.Yantai Port,Weiqiao Group,Winning Shipping and Guinean government jointly opened a stable supply route for bauxite from the Bokai Alumina Bauxite Mine in Guinea to the Chinese inland enterprises.Yantai Port has successfully established the status of China’s first bauxite import volume, but not yet formed a relatively complete import bauxite logistics network. The enterprise market lack of rational planning for logistics. The capacity of collection and distribution in port is insufficient. These cause the import of bauxite deposits in the port. These reduce the efficiency of logistics operations, affect the continuous production of enterprises, and increase the overall logistics cost. This paper takes Yantai Port’s imported bauxite logistics network as the research object and optimizes it.The first part, based on field research and consulting related literature,is the analysis of the port logistics conditions and hinterland economy of Yantai Port. Then, based on the stucture of imported materials logistic network, this paper analyzes the current status of imported bauxite logistics network in Yantai Port, and the supply and demand of imported bauxite in the network and the existing problems.Analyzing the demand for imported bauxite logistics from both domestic demand and demand in the hinterland of the port, this part uses the GM(1,1)model to predict the throughput of bauxite in Yantai Port in the next few years.Based on the increasing import of bauxite from the port,Yantai Port is the core node in the network, aiming at the optimal logistics cost of ocean transportation, ship handling cost, inland transportation cost and port inventory cost. The loading and unloading capacity, safety stock level and network supply and demand capacity of the port are constrained.Considering the three types of ship types of the Cape ship and the Panamax ship and the public iron water, the optimization model of the imported bauxite logistics network of Yantai Port is established and designed. The algorithm solves the model. The result is the number of ship types on different routes in each study period, and the number of vehicles from the port to the demanding enterprise. This paper optimizes the imported bauxite logistics network of Yantai Port, reduces the overall logistics cost of the network, and improves the port transportation capacity. The research results can provide some reference for the future development planning and port operations of the port, which has certain theoretical and practical significance.
