Water Meter Remote Reading System Research Based On IoT Techonology

In the traditional automatic meter reading mode,the collection of Water Meter data can be completed through the coordination of data line,hand holding machine,repeater and concentrator.However,this mode is more demanding for installation and use.Once a few mistakes are made in the process,the system may fail to perform normal work,which increases the maintenance cost of the water meter to some extent and increases the maintenance work later.In addition,the traditional meter reading system has high requirements on the distribution of Water Meter,so it is often difficult to collect Water Meter in free and concentrated areas or additional input is needed.With the development of IoT industry,this treatise proposes an efficient remote meter reading system based on IoT technology.Independently developed the IoT Water Meter and the supporting software system.The IoT Water Meter directly interacts with the meter reading platform through GPRS network,which greatly reduces the difficulty and cost of installation and maintenance.In addition,the feature that IoT Water Meters can communicate as long as there is GPRS network solves the problem of meter reading for Water Meter with low density distribution.At first,this treatise introduces the composition of IoT meter meter reading system and hierarchy,illuminates the system design goal and the content,secondly,based on the existing mechanical water meter basis,increase sensor,main control module,IoT component,data storage module and valve control part to complete the IoT meter hardware design and software design.In addition,based on GSM/GPRS transmission mode,a set of short-time connected Water Meter communication protocol is designed,which includes data interaction process,data interaction format and parameter interaction format,etc.Then,according to the demand of meter reading platform,the system architecture of Water Meter data management system is analyzed and the platform functional modules and database are designed.Finally,the test content and implementation method of IoT Water Meter and meter reading platform are proposed.The IoT meter reading system designed in this project has been tested by NingBo Water Meter co.,LTD.,meeting the expected performance and function requirements,and tens of thousands of IoT meters produced in China have been operating normally for nearly two years.This kind of IoT Water Meter reading system research has certain reference significance to the following related research and development.
