| After the establishment Yinggeling Nature Reserve, the closed management of forest resources protection was carried out,and the main economic sources of local residents were cut off, which resulted in the conflict between protected areas and communities. How to effectively promote the economic development of the communities of protection zone is the key to ensure the construction and management of nature reserves which to be supported by the community residents. This paper reviews the research progress and status of conservation community in China and other nations.Through investigating biology, landscape resources and the population status of the surrounding villages, basic education, community income, and the utilization of forest resources at Yinggeling Nature Reserve,it was found that there were some problems in the coordinate and balanced economic development of protected areas and community, and some countermeasures were put forward. The main results of this paper are as follows:1.Investigation of biological and landscape resources.Yinggeling Nature Reserve has varied biological resources, including 8 kinds of nectar collection of plant germplasm resources, such as timber, medicine and grease. There are much rare and endangered species. It is recorded that there are 14 new species of animal and plant sciences, including rhacophorus yinggelingensis, semicarinata colorata etc,and 25 new species of Chinese record, including trigonobalanus verticillata, salassa lemaii etc.New records of Hainan include bretschneideraceae and other 174 species.Flora and fauna species and community are typical and representative;Landscape resources are divided into 3 main categories:natural landscape resources, human landscape resources and ecological environment resources, and 8 sub-categories such as biological landscape. The specific scenic spots are Parrot Mouth,Gold Ore Waterfall,QiongYa Column command etc.2.Community economic status survey.(1)15 natural villages were selected as the survey sites, including 13 Li villages,2283 people,2 Miao villages and 444 people, all of whom were agricultural populations.(2)6 villages and towns the survey involved all have ordinary middle schools. The village committee has primary school or elementary school. And there are teaching points in every village. However, the numbers of teaching staff is lacking. There are quite a few illiteracies and semiliterate.(3)The infrastructure is backward and the industrial structure is unitary.According to statistics, the annual income of 15 villages are around 2075 yuan in average, far below the per capital income of cities and towns in nearly three years. Its mainly comes from rice, rubber, medicine and other crops.(4)The behaviors of community villagers could be a serious threat to forest resources in protected areas, which include logging, reclamation, utilization of forest resources, and so on.3.The problems and Countermeasures in the coordinated development of protected areas and community economy.(1)problems:①The cultural and conditions of education are poor, infrastructure and economic conditions are backward, and the industrial structure is unitary;②There is a lack of effective cooperation mechanism between the community and the protected areas.③Over reclamation and logging, which promote the deterioration of the ecological environment etc.(2)Suggestions are proposed on this:①Establishing the base of scientific investigation and popular science education to promote the economic development of the surrounding communities;②Develop ecological tourism to solve the employment problem of young people in community, such as Parrot Mouth Expedition Tourism Community, rainforest trails etc.③Promoting the plant of south china medicinal, develop forest inter-planting and breeding economy;④Strength the forest protection, establish the ecological protection co management system between the protected areas and the surrounding villages and towns;⑤Improve the educations in mountain area, medical treatments, roads and other infrastructure and the level of crop production technology;⑥Ecological education should be carried out to improve the local people’s awareness of ecological protection. |
