Study On The Sustainable Development Of West Dongting Lake Nature Reserve

Abstract:To protect biodiversity and implement the strategy of sustainable development is the current two major concerns in the international society, practice has proved that development of nature protection is benificial to maintain the ecological balance, protect biodiversity, conduct scientific research, promot the economic development and rich people’s material and cultural life. How to consolidate the construction of the achievement and promote the sustainable development of nature reserves under the new situation has come into an urgent and important task in front of us.This passage establish a nature reserve sustainable development evaluation index. Then,the author describe the development of the West Dongting Lake nature reserve and management status. Then, analysis the process of sustainable development of West Dongting Lake nature reserve from five aspects of ecological, social, economic, management and promotion, founding that the management system is not perfect, community sustainable development is limited etc.Next, put up the cause of influence the West Dongting Lake,also finding that the lag system construction, lacking of funds and talents and other factors leads to threats to West Dongting Lake sustainable development. Finally, put forward to some feasible suggestions for promote its sustainable development, such as improving reserve management institution, strengthen the community construction and education and so on.
