Cultivated land is an irreplaceable natural resource and agricultural production factor. To achieve intensive use of arable land is of great significance to the effective use of arable land resources and the improvement of arable land use efficiency. This paper takes Shandong Province as the research area, combines the experience of previous generations and the scientific connotation of the intensive use of cultivated land, and constructs a comprehensive evaluation system of intensive use of cultivated land in Shandong Province. The index of cultivated land intensive utilization in Shandong province was calculated from 1995 to 2015.And In 1995,2000,2005,2010 and 2015,the cultivated land intensive utilization index of 133 county-level units was studied. This paper analyzes the characteristics of time-series change of cultivated land intensive utilization in Shandong province in 21 years, and with the aid of GeoDa and Arc GIS spatial analysis software, adopted the method of ESDA,center of gravity model, this paper discusses the spatial difference of county of Shandong province cultivated land intensive utilization. Finally, the driving force of intensive use of cultivated land is analyzed combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, and suggestions are put forward based on the calculation results. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)From 1995 to 2015,the utilization level of cultivated land in Shandong province increased year by year and gradually improved. The investment intensity index of arable land has the largest contribution, followed by the output benefit index, the overall level of the sustainability index and the utilization index are relatively low,and the degree of contribution is small. The degree of intensive use of cultivated land for most of the county level in Shandong Province has increased to varying degrees, and the coordinated development has been continuously optimized.(2)At different times, the input intensity, utilization level, output efficiency, and sustainable status indicators of cultivated land show non-synchronous changes. The input intensity indicators showed a trend of rising first and then decreasing.Among them, the labor input indicators showed a significant downward trend; The chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural films all showed a trend of rising first and then decreasing; The total power of agricultural machinery and agricultural electricity consumption were significantly increased.Cultivated land output efficiency indicators have undergone a process from basically stable to a significant increase. The indicator layers and output benefit indicators have basically changed at the same time. The overall level of arable land use and sustainability indicators is low,and the arable land safety index continues to decline, which is worth noting.(3)There is a clear spatial difference in the level of intensive cultivation of cultivated land in Shandong Province. As a whole,it appears that the level of intensive use of cultivated land in the municipal district is higher, the growth rate is slower or negative;the intensive use of cultivated land in the urban area is low,and the growth rate is fast.In terms of regional differences, the level of intensive use of cultivated land in some parts of eastern Shandong is relatively high year-on-year,but over time, the economy of western Shandong develops rapidly, and the degree of intensive use of cultivated land increases significantly.Although the degree of intensive use of cultivated land in southern and northern Shandong areas has a certain degree of However, the growth rate is relatively slow. Therefore,in the future, the focus of arable land construction inShandong Province should be placed in the county units in the north and south, which will promote the overall level of intensive use of cultivated land in the eastern and western regions of Shandong Province, and narrow the regional differences.(4)The input intensity, utilization degree, output benefit and sustainable status index of cultivated land also show obvious spatial difference. The basic characteristics of the spatial variation of the input intensity index of cultivated land are: the center of gravity is moving from east to west, and the overall features are high and low north and south. It is the spatial variation feature of the index of cultivated land use degree. The output benefit is low in the east and west, but the resources advantage in western Shandong area is difficult to translate into economic advantages. The index of sustainable state is moving from east to west.(5)According to the research on the driving force of intensive use of cultivated land, the policy suggestions are put forward to improve the intensive use level of cultivated land in Shandong Province: to establish a strict cultivated land protection system,to promote the modernization of agricultural mechanization,to train talents,to increase the education of the rural population,to strengthen exchanges and cooperation,to promote Shandong province. We will strengthen exchanges and cooperation to promote balanced development of the eastern and western regions of Shandong province.
