In recent years, the cultivated land resources in Shanxi Province have been decreasing year by year, the extensive management of cultivated land is widespread, the output efficiency of cultivated land is low,and the contradiction between the growing material and cultural needs of farmers and the relatively low income of farming is becoming more and more prominent. In order to improve land use efficiency, this paper studies the intensive use level of cultivated land and its temporal and spatial characteristics in Jinzhong City,Shanxi Province. The research results are as follows:(1)Based on a large number of surveys and the characteristics of Jinzhong City, this paper considers the input, utilization, benefits and sustainability of cultivated land, and initially drafts 16 representative evaluation indicators. In addition, based on the correlation of evaluation indicators, the principal component analysis method was used to complete the screening and reconstruction of the indicator system.Finally,12 indicators were selected, such as average labor input, average fertilizer input, average mechanical power input, multiple cropping index, irrigation index, cultivated land mechanization rate,per-cultivated land production, farmer per capita disposable income, grain yield per hectare,non-agricultural index, food security factor, balance index. Then, using the analytic hierarchy process to construct a more scientific and accurate evaluation index system.(2)The weights of the 12 indicators are calculated by the partial subjective AHP;Using the objective entropy method to assign weights to the 12 indicators; The comprehensive weighting method is used to combine the weights of the indicators calculated by AHP and entropy method, the final weight of the 12 indicators were calculated, and the comprehensive evaluation method is used to calculate the intensive use value of cultivated land in Jinzhong City and its counties in 2013-2017.According to the expert's negotiation and information's comparison, the calculated intensive use index of cultivated land in Jinzhong City can accurately reflect the real situation, and the evaluation system is scientific and effective.(3)In the time dimension:?The annual variation of the intensive use level of cultivated land in Jinzhong City from 2013 to 2017 are as follows:the level of intensive use of cultivated land in Jinzhong City is fluctuating, and the average rate of decline is 4.3%.In 2014-2017,the intensive level is decreasing year by year, and,it has fallen to the lowest level in 2017.?The changes in the four criteria levels which includes input intensity, utilization intensity, utilization benefit, and sustainability of Jinzhong City during 2013-2017 are as follows:the input intensity, utilization intensity and sustainable status of cultivated land both fluctuated and reached the lowest value at the end of the study. The utilization efficiency has the fastest growth rate in 2013 and reached the best level in 2017.?The characteristics of the intensive use level of cultivated land in 11 counties of Jinzhong City:differences of intensive use levels across counties are manifest. The intensive degree increased by 0.05-0.1 in Shushe County,Heshun County,Shouyang County and Qi County. The intensive degree of Xiyang County and Jiexiu City decreased year by year, and reached the lowest value at the end of the study.?The study of the changing characteristics of the four criteria layers of input, utilization, benefit and sustainability of Jinzhong City's counties during 2013-2017:The average annual change in the degree of input, utilization, and utilization efficiency of each county is small, and the polarization is significant. The sustainability situation is extremely unstable, and relevant departments need to pay attention to it.(4)In the spatial dimension:?We must keep the sustainable development red line.Using the natural breakpoint segmentation method, the classification and spatial distribution of eultivated land intensive use in each county of Jinzhong City during 2013-2017 can be known:,the number of counties with high levels is reduced in the level of input criteria; In the utilization and utilization benefit criterion layers, the number of counties with high utilization benefits and utilization remains unchanged; In the sustainable development criteria layer, the number of counties with high sustainable development remains unchanged.
