Chestnut is known as "iron crops" and woody grain.It can help to improve China's grain production safety at the second fronts.The domestic and foreign processing products have been from a single sugar fried chestnut to chestnut preserves,chestnut dishes and chestnut drinks and other health food,while chestnut ripening is short,Chestnuts have a short maturation period,and the new mature chestnuts are easy to lose moisture,moldy and rot,and the chestnut food processing industry is becoming popular.Chestnut shelling machines on the market have low efficiency,high damage and high energy consumption,and the structure is complex,which restricts the quality of chestnut products and the economic benefits of chestnut farmers.Based on theoretical analysis and experimental research,the paper studies the peeling mechanism of chestnut,and produces the shelling machine of chestnut to achieve high efficiency,low damage rate of high stripping rate and easy operation performance.The main work accomplished in this paper is as follows:(1)Study on the physical and mechanical properties of chestnut(Jinzhai chestnut as the research object).According to the data of the geometrical size,the weight and the water content of the sample,the physical and mechanical characteristics of it were analyzed,which provide the basis for mechanical analysis and structural design of shelling at the key component design and experimental studies.(2)The mechanical design and analysis of chestnut Sheller.It is planned to design a scheme to analyze the mechanical properties of chestnut shelling on mechanical basis,and to measure the force conditions of key components and make a mechanical derivation.The parameters and efficiency of chestnut shelling were calculated,which provide the selection of the parameters for the shell peeling test.(3)Structure design and prototype trial manufacture of chestnut sheller.Through the design of the key parts of chestnut shelling work and other various working parts,the prototype of chestnut shelling is made and the orthogonal test can be conducted,and then the results are analyzed.The optimum test performance parameters of the peeling rate and the low damage rate are obtained by analyzing the Max-min and the variance with peeling rate and damage rate as indicators,so as to get the best test performance parameters of the peeling rate and the damage rate,and then to gain the optimal design of the performance of the sheller.This paper focuses on the design and development of chestnut sheller.The structure and operation of the prototype are easy to understand.Due to the special design of the key parts of the sheller,the type of cutting tool is different,which can be meet the needs of shelling chestnuts of different maturity and different sizes.Consequently,the energy consumption can be reduced and the efficiency can be improved while keeping low cost at the sametime.
